Tween skincare (mini pimples)

Any recommendations for skincare for my 11yo daughter? She has started to get tiny pinprick-sized whiteheads (not the squeezable sort, more like little lumps) which suggests to me...I don't know? Needs to exfoliate?

I'd welcome any suggestions. As she's so young I'm keen to avoid anything harsh. Happy to spend a bit for the right products. She's quite thorough about washing but I think has a tendency not to rinse things off properly.

Watching with interest as my 10 year old DD has the same. I tried some La Roche Posay Effaclar (sp?) cream on them and it's improved things; but I'd be interested in hearing what's worked for others.

The Red Clay soap here has really improved my teen son's spots. t's a very gentle soap but very effective :)
