Where have all the decent shoes gone?!

Went into Clarks today - has previously always been my go-to place for reasonable quality shoes that aren't ridiculously priced. And it was all just...meh. I wanted a pair of flat boots. Ideally mid calf and biker style or slouchy/loose. Nothing.

I know I can look online but I like being able to check them out in real life. I have problems with my feet and it's useful being able to try on first. Ordering online and then having the palaver of having to return them if they aren't right is a complete PITA.

So, where are all the decent shoes?!?!

John Lewis has a brilliant shoe sale on at the moment. I had half an hour to spare at Birmingham New Street station earlier this week (always dangerous!), and came out with two gorgeous pairs of ankle boots.

Hmm, may have to do a trip to JL. Office has some nice fly boots in atm. But I dislike going into Office because all the staff seem to be about 12 and look at me like I've accidentally wandered in after mistaking it for Hotter

It might be that the style you're looking for is 'out' this season. I wore my biker style boots a few weeks ago and for the first time felt they looked a bit dated or wrong somehow (they'll come back round I'm sure!!).
