I’m getting all my hair lopped off on Saturday

Please convince me it’ll be great!
It’s currently just below my shoulders and I hate it, it’s really dry and taily at the end where there’s old bleach damage done, all I ever seem to do is throw it up as it takes soo long to wash, blow dry and straighten every day (has to be every day otherwise it’s a frizzy kinky mess) and I just want a fun but feminine style that will take less time to dry and straighten but I can still have fun with.
But. I have a big round moon face 🙀 will it suit? I’m thinking something like the pic that’s hopefully attached, I do have very high (slightly chubby) cheekbones and a heart shaped face and I reallllllly want it short but am so worried it won’t suit!
Opinions gratefully received 😊

I had that 90s Winona Ryder cut back in the day, and it looked good on me (I have round cheekbones, heart-shaped face, flatish nose) so I reckon you can pull off short hair too. In fact now I'm kind of missing it myself!

Op , come back and post a picture please
Are you in the hairdressers now

Waits patiently (not )

Birdie6 · 02/02/2019 13:22

Yes, do it ! Mine was middle of my back, had been for years. When I got the chop I felt so free ! I've never regretted it.

ACoverIsNotTheBook · 02/02/2019 15:11

You guys I done it and I am slightly in love 😍 it’s short at the back but with loads left at the front so I can have it in different styles and even pin it back off my face if I need to, so glad I done it!
I will come back with a pic as soon I can find out how to take my face out lol
Thank you ladies I really don’t think I’d have went for it if you all hadn’t have given such great advice :)

You've inspired me....appointment made for Tuesday morning to get mine all chopped off!!

mydogisthebest · 04/02/2019 11:21

You won't regret it.

I have had short hair for years (it has got shorter and shorter) and now have the back clippered and a longish front with a spiky fringe which goes to one side.

I have very thick dead straight hair and the hairdresser thins it out a lot. I wash it every day but don't always dry and style it and it still looks pretty good. When I blow dry it and properly style it with product I really love it and after years of hating my hair that makes me feel good.

cfmagnet · 04/02/2019 11:39

Can't wait to see it!

I had s pixie cut after having shoulder length hair for years. I hate it, takes twice as long to do when I wash it, and is very high maintenance. Dont do it!

Inliverpool1 · 04/02/2019 12:24

Lady she’s done it !

OlderThanAverageforMN · 04/02/2019 12:39

I went from shoulder length, to a bob, to a pixie, and now something in-between.

I now have what the hairdressers describes as a pixie bob! Very short at the back, longer on the top, with a swept fringe.

I loved the full pixie, but maybe a bit severe for me, and cold in the winter. The bob was a bit mummsy, so I now have the in-between. So happy, I find it so easy to keep, you can style it, or just blow it about and put some wax on. I have really fine, thinning hair, and this really adds volume at the crown, which is fab for me.

Confused

Older would love to see a photo of your hairstyle. 🙂

LoveBeingAMum555 · 04/02/2019 19:10

I went from just below the shoulders to a short cut a few months ago. I absolutely love it and have had so many compliments. My hair is very fine and getting thinner as I get older and had started to go a bit straggly and wispy when it was longer. Now I have got this choppy, funky look which is so easy to manage.

ACoverIsNotTheBook · 05/02/2019 18:18

Sorry for the delay and also the rubbish photo lol! You can’t see it so we’ll here but the other side is shorter and tucks neatly behind my ears and the back is very short until about halfway up and then has the length coming down over the top. Takes 2 mins to wash and dry, I blowdry it all forward and give it a quick straighten then a bit of product for lift and of I go! It has literally quarter my getting ready time. I think it still looks feminine but do much easier to maintain :)

It is really lovely
You suit it 😊

Janecon · 05/02/2019 18:26

It looks great. I'm very tempted as the ends of my hair are straggly.

Would love to see any other photo others might wish to post!

ACoverIsNotTheBook · 05/02/2019 18:27

Thank you @jacksback :) I know it’s not strictly super short looking from this angle but it was almost undercut all round then this long side left to play with so I think it’s closer to the pixie bob talked about upthread- it’s a game changer for sure!
