Beauty gift for 25 year old

My lovely colleague has a birthday coming up- I'd like to get her say a Bare Minerals kit or something, but what would you recommend? Don't want to get her something she'd see as granny brand (I'm 44, playing older sister, but could really be her mother with the age gap!) All bargain ideas welcome too- £25 ish?

I don't think Bare Minerals is a granny brand, but is the set you're talking about made up of foundation, concealer etc. products? This is a nice idea if you know her skin tone and skin type well, but if you're not 100% sure it might be easier to get her something else. I find buying foundation tricky even when I'm buying it for myself!

Does she wear a lot of makeup? How would you describe her style?
