What would you wear under this dress?

I've bought this dress for a party next month and I am really happy with it. However, it ties up on the inside and then on the outside on the other side (does that even make sense!?) and when I walk / if it's windy I'll be in fear of flashing my pants. Any suggestions for what I could wear underneath? I've never worn any type of slip before - is that what's needed here or am I best off getting a black tube skirt? TIA!

What would you wear under this dress?

Couple of small black safety pins so it does not flap open all the way?

I have a similar style dress, I'm planning to wear a black slip skirt underneath it. Less clingy than a tube skirt would be so the dress will flow better and it won't ride up. I got mine from M&S, they do lots of different lengths

A lovely bake slip. Something to unpeal to later for sexy time Wink

Black!!

I would wear thick tights, a full slip, a vest and possibly a polo neck. But that's maybe overkill 😆
(Oh, and a cardigan on top too)

Thanks everyone! I think I'll go for Peach's suggestion and head to M&S.

Oh dear Devil do you hate the dress that much 😂

Oh no lostfrequencies, the dress is lovely! I just tend to wear many many layers unless the temperature is in the mid 20s

I buy slips from M&S - the only ones that don’t cling or ride up. I’d wear a black slip under this

DontCallMeCharlotte · 28/01/2019 19:50

I have a black half slip from M&S which has a split in it but it's probably older than you.

Windy? It’s a party. I think the risk of knicker flash would be minimal. Just go for best plain black knickers. Amything else is likely to be too bulky and ride up.

lostfrequencies · 29/01/2019 19:06

Um yes starlight, windy. The party isn't exclusively indoors.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I would still go for the plain black knix. Being dark they won’t notice even when the wind blows and slips crinkle underneath. Enjoy your party.

Wrap dresses are a bugger for exposure in the slightest breeze. Either safety pons or sewing in a couple of little poppers along the edge for security are what I do.

halfwitpicker · 30/01/2019 12:08

Windy? It’s a party.

I thought this too, but it's outside also? I guess our OP has to walk to the venue, too.

Enjoy the paaarrtaaay, darling!

dudsville · 30/01/2019 12:55

You can get tiny clear plastic snaps cheaply and they are easy to apply, better then safety pin, which would be visible.

BigFatBloomers · 30/01/2019 13:11

I’d go for a full slip rather than just a half one as wrap dresses are very prone to flashing everything - top and bottom - and it would make you feel more secure.
