Thin hair?

My hair is just past my shoulders.

When I wear it down I can see through the lengths. So when I look into a mirror I can see gaps and light through the long bits between ears and shoulders. Is that normal? I am sure it wasn't like this before.

When did you last have it trimmed? It might be the ends are thinning and you need a cut. I was at a family party at the weekend and a cousin was moaning about her hair breaking off and how thin it look, turned out she was growing it but hadn't had it cut for a year. She also dyes it ever six weeks with a strong lightener. Not saying that's causing yours.

A few weeks ago I had it cut, and dyed every 6 weeks but generally roots. Brown.

Mines doing the same. Can't work out whether it's thinning or top layers are too short. I had it cut into a Bob from
Just below shoulders and it looks worse. Sad

If budget allows, try viviscal supplements. If not, try biotin and ensure you’re not iron deficient

When mine started breaking off I worked out it was a combination of bleach highlights, post breast/feeding and I was making too many demands of my body; working out a lot and commuting into the city five days a week. I have upped supplements and my lifestyle is different, my hair still breaks when it's bleached though. So I'm growing it out.

I finally realised how thin my hair had become when putting it up into a pony tail. Googled it and everything fell into place. Had some blood tests done and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Obviously this might not be the same for you!! While starting medication for this I also started to use biotin. It took about 3 years and had my hair cut a bit shorter so it was less obvious but its now long and very thick again. Biotin is awesome (as is levothyroxine in my case!).
