Has the quality of Hush cashmere improved?

DH has been asking what I would like for my birthday and am very smitten with this lovely beast.

www.hush-uk.com/womenswear/daywear/jumpers_cardis/frida_cashmere_v_jumper_living_coral.htm?fo_c=1586&fo_k=1beff82d520d4bf557e54067fe9fa8c4&fo_s=criteo&utm_source=display&utm_medium=criteo&utm_campaign=retargeting

But the warnings on here about Hush knitwear have been pretty dire. Is the quality/bobbling still bad? If so, will look for a similar colour/style elsewhere as I don't want my lovely birthday treat to turn to crap in a couple of (gentle, hand) washes.

I have a few Hush jumpers. Their linen/cotton/summery ones have been great quality wise. A wool one pretty good - has bobbled a bit but it is now 3 years old and still OK. Got some bamboo ones - shocking - thin and baggy after the first or second wash.

I find their t-shirts AWFUL.

I would be wary to be honest - only because it can be hit or miss and it is such a lot of money.

Maybe see if you get more responses from here and/or reviews of their cashmere before you buy.

Have you looked at Uniqlo - I have a v-neck cashmere jumper from there which has been great. Possibly not as fine a knit as the Hush one though.

Thanks for your response Chop. Uniqlo and Boden both do good quality v necks - but not in the burnt orange/paprika colour I was after. Sounds like I need to resist - they are, as you say, pricy, and I expect something that dear to last a couple of years at least! I do own a debobbler which I use on some of my other jumpers now and then, but don't want to have to do it all the time.

It might be - but worth a look. It's a bit 'spring-y' - I'm more of an autumn in the HoC sense. So tend to look for spicier, slightly muddy shades. (Picky, I know). Bored to tears with brown by now, otherwise would go for this www.johnlewis.com/boden-cashmere-v-neck-jumper-conker/p3949276?sku=237893895&s_kwcid=2dx92700036801791140&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=CjwKCAiAyrXiBRAjEiwATI95mV9kBH7hO7SC4jfNJgbhmi7eLKzevc-lIf_lvRla7ss8pZKNtrhPDRoC7goQAvD_BwE

Ooo, I like that one. And a bit "slouchier", like the Hush one. But not all cashmere (not sure if that is a deal breaker?) Maybe worth ordering both and comparing?

Snowdrop30 · 27/01/2019 19:56

Yeah I think I will do that!
