Bumping?

Swimminguphill · 26/01/2019 15:32

Check t shirts carefully for faults - quite a lot are seconds. Wear clothes you can try things on over (eg skinnies & t shirt). I went in gym clothes last time. If you find something good grab it immediately (e.g. I bagged leather leggings last time 🙌). If you are a 10-12 look in the sample bins as they have lots of recent season stuff, nicer than a lot of the main sale. Take a bottle of water. Prepare to queue. Make a mental list of what you are looking for & don’t deviate. There are a lot of dresses that didn’t sell for a reason, leave well alone! Look for shapes you like on the website beforehand but be flexible about colour (eg the lovely trapeze sundress might only be in certain colours). Don’t panic the good stuff will not all be gone. There are always loads of parkas, hardly any leather jackets. Loads of t shirts, jumpers (not cashmire) viscose shirts, dresses. Hardly any shoes or accessories. A few leather leggings/skirts but you have to search for them. I always stock up on t shirts as they are £5 each!!

I was also thinking of going but wondered if the sample sale is only for small sizes? I'm a 12 in Hush. Anyone know if they have much in that size?

Swimminguphill · 26/01/2019 17:13

They have all sizes, if anything more in larger ones and fewer in smaller sizes

Swimminguphill · 26/01/2019 17:14

Except leather leggings (can you tell I’m obsessed?) more size 8/10 in those

trader21c · 26/01/2019 18:15

They have a few mirrors in corners of the room but it is hard to try on clothes - wearing leggings and a vest top is a good idea as one poster said. Last time I bought a few things not as many as I thought I would

Nomorerainplease · 27/01/2019 11:44

What time does it start?

trader21c · 27/01/2019 12:26

12 Wednesday 9 Thurs, Fri, Sat I usually get there later though

ilovebrie8 · 31/01/2019 13:24

Has anyone been today just wondering what it is like?

OP posts:
baublegirl454 · 31/01/2019 17:01

I went today. I got a parka, t shirt, star jumper and a shell top for £120. I nearly bought a bag and a fake fur jacket too, but came to my senses at the till! I got there at 10 and walked straight in, but when I left at 11.40 there was a queue to get in. I had to queue about 15 mins for the till. There was a variety of sizes but nothing was in the right place so there was a lot of rummaging required. I'm pleased with my purchases but I'm not sure I ld go again

baublegirl454 · 31/01/2019 17:13

Oh and a jumpsuits

trader21c · 31/01/2019 17:14

Good haul! I like the sound of the jumpsuit

ilovebrie8 · 31/01/2019 18:49

Hi bauble good buys! I’m planning to go tomorrow , how much are the star jumpers? Also are there many shoes or boots or pyjamas? Thank you 😊

OP posts:
baublegirl454 · 31/01/2019 18:52

There were loads of boots, but not in my size sadly. The star jumper was £15. I think there were lots of pyjamas but I didn't look through them

AmethystMoon · 01/02/2019 08:32

I went yesterday and have posted on the main Hush thread what I got/ prices etc.

UserN0me · 02/02/2019 10:26

Has anyone been today? I’m just wondering how busy it is and if there’s much left? It’s about an hours journey for me so I don’t want to make the effort if it’s not worth it but I really love all things hush so I’m trying to decide what to do!

prisscalledwanda · 02/02/2019 13:23

I went an hour ago. Was not busy at all by sample sale standards. Lots left but almost all very random, though I got a couple of gems.

Loads more pieces at size 10 and smaller than the larger sizes if that helps. Lots of dresses and jackets, far fewer T-shirts, skirts or jumpers. I think if you're a size 12/ medium you won't find much; if you're a 10, a 6 or a 16 there's a lot of options.

Hope that helps

UserN0me · 02/02/2019 13:26

Thanks for the update. I’m a 12 so it’s probably not worth the effort then!

trader21c · 02/02/2019 16:09

Yes I agree not much in M though when I was there they reduced prices still further so eg all coats and jackets now £50!

trader21c · 02/02/2019 16:15

A lot of it had faults too so spent an hour rummaging through but only found a vest top😯

ilovebrie8 · 02/02/2019 17:48

I went this morning my first time at the sample sale no queues to get in and not that busy. No queuing to pay straight to till. Not quite what I expected it was all muddled up in plastic boxes labelled with a size but it was all mixed up and a jumble. You basically had to rummage! Got a few bits but not as much as I’d hoped! As previous poster said quite a few things faulty holes etc. You have to have a good check over. Think earlier days would’ve had more choice.

OP posts:
trader21c · 02/02/2019 18:32

Yes it was far better on the first day ... but still if I had waited to get the Bronte coat today it would’ve been £20 cheaper!

Beketaten · 02/02/2019 21:18

All separates went down to £5 at about 3.30pm today, dresses £10, shoes £10, boots £30. Got quite a few bits, but it was a real rummage to find the good stuff. I was there for 2 hours!

ilovebrie8 · 02/02/2019 21:52

Same experience for me a real rummage through the boxes to find decent bits 😊cheap though tops for £5! I spent about an hour and a half. Saw some people buying loads but I couldn’t find that much I liked in my size
