Paula’s Choice Retinol??

Fullfatlatte · 23/01/2019 20:42

I’ve used & got on with Indeed Retinol Reface but fancy changing up a step. Anyone used Paula’s choice Retinol? Or another brand? Thank you

The Paula’s choice one is brilliant

BF888 · 24/01/2019 00:37

Paula’s choice is currently next on my list. I read about it earlier and it had great reviews.

NiceUnusualDifferent · 24/01/2019 07:05

The Paulas choice one in the purple packaging is fantastic but some people find it too strong

Truckingonandon · 24/01/2019 07:06

I found it the opposite of strong and it did nothing for me.

TheWombat · 24/01/2019 07:57

I use the 1% strength in the purple bottle. My skin has tolerated it much better than The Ordinary retinol and I probably will repurchase. I use every other night - could probably go up to 2 out of 3 nights easily. I think it’s stronger than LRP redermic R, which is the other one I’ve tried.

I was actually going to start a thread about this, OP and I too am currently using the Indeed Labs one. I haven't noticed any difference in my skin and I've been using it for about 6 weeks, so was considering the Paula's Choice one.

So, Rogue and Wombat, the main question is, do you look younger since using it?

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 24/01/2019 16:00

I used it and although it was nice it definitely wasn’t a wonder product.

I’ve bought a bottle of The Ordinary 1% to try now instead.

I used it 5 nights out of 7 but I have very very oily skin that’s not at all sensitive.

I’d recommend buying the trial size to see if it’s for you before splashing money on a big bottle. The trial bottle lasted me 6ish weeks.

Fullfatlatte · 24/01/2019 20:03

Thank you for all the replies. Yes it’s the purple bottle I was looking at but wondering if it was worth the £53. Maybe I’ll look at the smaller size first. I’ve become a fan off most things Drunk Elephant after buying The Littles Kit but was put off buying their Retinol after Nadine Baggot’s review that it was good but not worth the price tag. I had fantastic results with the Indeed Retinol Reface but feel now my skin is used to it I need something stronger.

@Bastardanxiety do you know what, I think it actually has made a bit of a difference! It’s not a miracle worker but alongside a gentle aha on alternate nights, I think it’s helped refine the texture of my skin a bit. Hard to know what’s working, but I think it’s a bit of everything. And the ceramides included in the formula definitely help my skin to tolerate it, so much less flaking than with other retinols I’ve tried.

Ponks · 24/01/2019 22:42

I'm trying the Paulas Choice 1% retinol at the moment (got the trial size with 20% off from LookFantastic) but not feeling particularly wowed by it. I've also got the Ordinary 2% granactive retinoids which I think does more for me.

Habadabadoo · 24/01/2019 22:47

Reading with interest as I'm just starting to look into using retinol

Truckingonandon · 25/01/2019 08:08

QRX labs retinol is fab. Better than the ordinary and Paula's choice and only about £10 as well. I'm also using the inkey list retinol at the mo and that's ok but QRX is better imo. Totally different textures too. The Inkey List is greasier and QRXlabs is more watery and sinks straight in.
