Replacement for Nice and Easy non-permanent 8 washes hair dye

I’ve used the Nice and Easy non permanent 8 wash dye for a few years, I like the way it covers up a few grey hairs without being permanent and looks a bit more natural. It lasts more than 8 washes on my hair, but not so long that the roots show. But now I can’t find it and I think they’ve stopped making it. Does anyone know of a good temporary replacement?

www.superdrug.com/Save-%C2%A31-on-selected-Nice-N-Easy/Nice%27n-Easy-No-Ammonia-Hair-Dye-Light-Ash-Brown-75/p/404418?

Lasts approx. 24 washes. Also available in most major supermarkets.

Thanks! I’m really hoping to find something less permanent/long lasting than that, as I find the ones that last 24 washes too much for my hair. So something to replace the one they’ve stopped doing, that was sold as lasting for 8 washes/temporary. Though if it comes to it I might end up going down that route, so thanks for the link.

Wella Colour Fresh lasts for up to 8 washes (so no peroxide, it doesnt penetrate the hair shaft)
It's not so easy to find as the one you've been using though, as it isn't sold in Superdrug etc. Also quite a bit more expensive I believe Sad
I use it sometimes to change the tone of my hair (which is naturally light blonde) It does wash out fast though, as my hair isn't bleached (about 2 washes as opposed to probably 8 on chemically lightened hair)
You can buy it online, but I get mine (much cheaper) in a shop that sells lots of hairdresser supplies.
Sally's sell it I think, and they have shops.
I wouldn't use anything that said 28 washes on my hair (some people seem to think that if the box says "semi permanent" it will wash out completely, which of course it won't, especially if used repeatedly)

The product doesn't seem to be listed on the Clairol website so it may have been discontinued.

Superdrug do a great colour shampoo that builds up. I use it once a week to keep the greys at bay. Works a treat and worth a try at £1.99.

I read this thread a couple of years ago when I was trying to find a replacement too. For several years I’ve been using the Nice n’ Easy non-permanent product in a colour two shades lighter than my main natural colour, because I'm mildly grey (25% around the face generally, 90% on my left and right temples, 5% elsewhere) – and I wanted to maintain the natural blonde strands in my hair and not lose my natural multi-tonal colouring (originally 90% mid-brown, 8% dark-blonde, 2% black). Most people have natural multi-tonal colouring and it makes hair look natural.

When it was discontinued, I bought old bottles of the Nice n’ Easy product (dark blonde / light brown) on eBay to get me through, but they no longer look right on my hair - the colour seems to be ageing out and now looks straw-yellow: odd and fake. I think the bottles have effectively expired. I have been adding Batiste brunette dry-shampoo for a while to help darken the blonde, which is ridiculous but heigh-ho… I also tried a similar product I found on Amazon (a Polish-made one) but didn't get on with that, and it gave my hair a noticeable purple tinge, which took a couple of weeks of heavy shampooing to wash out. Argh. Husband commented on the colourful rock chick look I wouldn't normally have...

But this week I have finally found something that works, amazingly well. So if anyone is still looking, this may be useful! It’s L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Beautifying Colour Care Non Permanent (www.loreal-paris.co.uk/age-perfect/colour-care-silver-grey-hair-toner). There is only a limited range of colours unfortunately. I have tried the Beige and the Chestnut versions. Beige I found really light, but Chestnut is amazing and suddenly my hair looks good again. I found I needed to leave it on much longer than the recommended 10 minutes - 25 worked well for me. I should try the Beige again but leave it on for 25 minutes too. Of course I did the allergy patch test first - do make sure you do that!

The bottle says not recommended for hair that is less than 50% grey, but I ignored that and I found it works beautifully. A really soft flattering light brunette, leaving a beautiful shiny texture.

Hi. Seen this and thought I would tell you that nice and easy stopped making this a few years ago.. I'm allergic to hair colour and luckily don't grow grey just a few here and there.. I searched far and wide to find a replacement even contacted the manufacturer of this and they replied that is was discontinued.. I now use Wella colour fresh and also Marion hair colour shampoo which you can buy from ebay .. hope this helps . :)
