What is the best thing to put foundation on with? Brush/sponge/something else?

I’m currently using a brush but it just stripes it all over my face. Is there something better out there??

The brushes that look like a paintbrush aren't the best. Try a stippling brush or the Real techniques expert face brush. Or for a more natural finish, a damp beauty blender ( my preferred option).
Ultimately, you can use your fingers for a natural finish as your fingers warm up the foundation and blend it better.

Im currently using these sponges - i spritz a bit of water on one before applying foundation. Much prefer them to the brushes - my real techniques one does seem to apply it stripey.

Still need to finish off with a bit of finger blending around hair line. Am sure other sponges/blenders would do a similar job when dampened.

My favourite is either Zoeva 104 buffer brush or Sigma F80. I then use a damp beauty blender to finish off. I do love Zoeva brushes if I had to choose.

Beauty blender is the best option

I use RT Expert Face Brush and then tap more on with a finger where I need extra coverage.

Clean fingers, I find.

I use a real techniques stippling brush to apply the foundation and then use a slightly damp beauty blender to finish off for a flawless no stripe look. The stippling brush and the use of the bottom flat part of the blender pushes the foundation onto the face rather than runs so I find it stays on better too

*rubs sorry

I have a silicon pebble which I love. It looks like a mini chicken fillet and is brilliant for smoothing on foundation. Got mine in the pound shop.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush for light / medium coverage and their Expert Face Brush when I want full coverage.

Also Zoeva angled buffing brush is lovely.

MikeUniformMike · 23/01/2019 17:29

I didn't get on with the silicon one. I use fingers.

Thanks everyone. I’ll get googling!

Fingers usually. The warmth helps it spread evenly and you can get into all the nooks.

I like fingers best. Got a beauty blender recently but tbh it just soaks up all the foundation and you use twice as much!
