How often do you get your hair cut ?

And what style and length is it ?

I’m just wondering if going once every two months or so will do

I go about every 6 months- shoulder length and curly. It doesn't grow fast so it's fine ( and cheap!)

lpchill · 23/01/2019 09:47

My hair is a A line lob. I cut it myself every 5 weeks. When I used to go to the hairdresser it was every 2-3 months but it was longer then

WildCherryBlossom · 23/01/2019 12:24

OP it really depends on your hair length and style. Short pixie crops might need refreshing every 5 - 6 weeks. When I was younger my hair was naturally healthy and I used to go around twice a year. It's now a bit colour damaged and I should probably go around 4 times a year (every 3 months or so, but I do leave it longer sometimes)

CMOTDibbler · 23/01/2019 12:29

Every 6 months or so, plus I chop my front layers occasionally. I hate going to the hairdresser

Pythonesque · 23/01/2019 12:30

I go very rarely, though ought to get it cut more often and wear it shorter. My teenage daughter has switched to short hair and we're finding that a home trim at half term and a proper cut each holiday is about right.

Every 2 months sounds fine to me - I'd hate to have a style that needed more than that!

NorthEndGal · 23/01/2019 12:32

I cut mine myself, about once every 6 months
I have it slightly longer than shoulder length

Ridingthegravytrain · 23/01/2019 13:26

6-8 weeks but mine is very short. When it was longer and not a style maybe every 6 months

MeetOnTheledge · 23/01/2019 13:34

Shoulder length, 10 weeks. When it was short it needed to be every 5-6 weeks.

PulcinoPio · 23/01/2019 15:56

Sorry for the thread hijack, but to the people saying you cut it yourselves, how? I have similar length hair and have tried home haircuts a few times but never been happy with them.

I go to the hairdresser about every 6 months but should go more often. Being able to do the in between cuts at home would be a dream for me!

letsdolunch321 · 23/01/2019 16:13

Every 8 weeks for me, I love it.

LunaTheCat · 23/01/2019 16:44

Every 4 weeks - shorter hair which grows like the devil. I don’t have coloured hair though so I don’t need to pay for that.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 23/01/2019 17:24

Mid-length bob - will be short bob on Friday - hurrah!

I go every two or three months. I'd like to go much more frequently but when did you last see "trim" (which is all it would be) on a hairdresser's price list? You have to have the whole kit and caboodle nowadays.

NorthEndGal · 23/01/2019 17:39

@PulcinoPio I can't speak for everyone, but for me , it's a variation on the old MN haircut that used to be on youtube. Just a long bob, no bangs
I have straight, thin hair as well, so it's pretty easily

doritad · 23/01/2019 17:40

Last had it cut in 2006 😂

CountFosco · 23/01/2019 17:45

Every 6 weeks whatever length it is and I get it cut if I'm growing it as well. I have a pixie and it really needs a cut every 5 weeks TBH.

halfwitpicker · 23/01/2019 19:24

Once a year. Get it cut blunt, Wall Street style. Usually to coincide with a job interview.
By the end of the year I look like a surfer chick again.

PanamaPattie · 23/01/2019 19:28

I have a chin length inverted bob. Cut and coloured every 6 weeks.

Bluesheep8 · 23/01/2019 19:28

Every 4 weeks. Cropped hair/pixie cut but I don't have it coloured at all. Costs me £29.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 23/01/2019 19:30

Every six weeks. It's very thick and fine and grows very fast plus I love going to the hairdresser

flatpackbox · 23/01/2019 19:33

Chin length bob, I have just pushed my appointments out to nine weeks from six weeks. DD used to come with me every second time but has now got shorter style and has started coming every time I go.

Two cuts = £120. £20 per week seems much worse than £13!

user1486076969 · 23/01/2019 19:34

Every 6 weeks

Ragwort · 23/01/2019 19:38

About twice a year, and I go to a training college, my ‘style’ is just tie it in a pony tail [grain] or occasionally a bun thing if I can manage it.

I used to have a pixie cut, that needed a lot of attention.

CheesecakeAddict · 23/01/2019 19:38

I hate the hairdressers. I can't stand people touching my hair. I go once a year

hazeyjane · 23/01/2019 19:38

Every 2 weeks....it's shaved at the sides and long on top. Dh does it.

Rayne22 · 23/01/2019 19:46

Last time I cut my hair was May last year. That was the first time it had been cut in two years! It was quite long so I chopped it to chin length, its roughly above my shoulders now.

Reading this I feel a need to book in at the hairdressers!
