I’m in public wearing a coat that looks like a dressing gown

I’m mortified.

Have a job interview and desperately needed a smart coat to wear so ordered one online last night.

It looks like a full length posh dressing gown .

I’ve no choice but to wear it. I’m sitting on the train wishing the seat would swallow me.

I tripped over it on the stairs up to the platform.

Great outfit! And the weather was against a lot of us yesterday! I was walking through London in wide legged trousers. By the end of the day, the trousers were soaked and flapping round my ankles, and my fashionable beret was sodden.

Your coat looks normal! It’s not ‘dressing gown-like’ in my opinion. I wouldn’t have thought you looked strange if I saw you - you looked fine and absolutely like you were en route to an interview. It was an appropriate outfit choice. Hope the interview was successful!

I have this coat which I feel looks a bit like a dressing gown. It certainly feels like one on as it’s so cosy - sometime I think it’s a bit OTT but I wouldn’t have felt embarrassed wearing it over my work outfit yesterday as it’s so warm - the weather was freezing and it snowed yesterday and my normal wool coat with a jumper wasn’t enough!

It looks really nice & midern if you’re shorter than the model get it taken up by a seamstress.
I realised this week my work coat was a disgrace so quite fancy that coat for myself now 😁
