Estee Lauder Double Wear Light or Nude?

I'm currently trying out a 10 day sample of EL double wear and it's not quite right. It's fab for covering problem areas, like around my rudolph nose due to a cold, but everywhere else it just seems to highlight pores and wrinkles I can't usually see Sad. I love the fact that I don't have to keep reapplying it though, and that I'm not getting a shiny nose by lunchtime.

So I want to try a lighter version. What's best out of Light or Nude? And what is the difference anyway?

Thanks!

Nude is least coverage, DW light was good when I used it but apparently they changed the formula so cannot say anything about that.

I used to always use DL light day to day and DL nude for nights out (slightly more dewy coverage and not as long lasting). However they’ve just changed the formula if DL light and I can’t get on with it all- colour wise or formula, it’s sticky now. I’m using DL nude every day.

Ah thanks both - I will go back and ask for a sample of Nude - I was reading some reviews and the general consensus seems to be that the new formula of Light isn’t good.

Are you wearing a primer underneath? Mine looks way better with primer.

Badtasteflump · 22/01/2019 16:47

No I’m not - can I ask what primer you use pls?

I used the original DW light for years and loved it but the new formulation feels sticky and sinks into my pores.

I'm still searching for a replacement but for now I'm really impressed with the No7 cushion foundation which I got as a desperation purchase.

I was all set to buy the Double Wear light after I read quite a long thread on foundations (an old thread). And Double wear was recommended by loads of people. Now they've changed the formula how annoying. Back to square one. I've not bought foundation for ages having made a few bad purchases in the past. Too thick, to orangey even when advised by a sales person.

Different brand but might be worth trying a sample of the Urban Decay Naked Skin? Similar type of thing to the old doublewear light, quite long lasting and doesn't sink into pores so much.

I agree with @Hipho, using a primer beneath your foundation makes a big difference. I use a Biore sunscreen which works really well as primer, so I don't need a separate primer any more, but before this always used one.

I use a No7 one, the one in the blue tube - with a primer you need much less foundation so it doesn't go on so thick. I love double wear!

You often get a free sample of it in Boots when they do the No7 deals if you want to try without buying
