Something fabulous for a funeral

My lovely great aunt died last week. I am determined to give part of the eulogy at her funeral, alongside my aunt.
I am thinking a new and fantastic dress is the way to go to boost me. Any suggestions?

I am a size 22 in Boden, 20 in Seasalt and sometimes Monsoon. Significant bosom, dresses with linings often don't work. I'm not bothered about colour but will need to be warm (freezing c of e church). I want to wear the necklace she gave me for a christening present. It's an heirloom, Edwardian, with peridot, light coloured amethysts and pearl so needs to work with pink and green and will need either a v neck or scoop neck.

Help please!

I think any low cut dress would be frowned on at a funeral. TBH I don't think people really notice outfits at funerals unless it is glaringly inappropriate, so anything that you feel comfortable in and makes you feel confident will do.

I can't help with specific dress ideas, but is the necklace a suffragette necklace? My grandmother gave me hers - it was peridots, amethysts and pearl too. Perhaps purple or bottle green for the dress? Personally, what always makes me feel bold is a good hat.

Sorry for your loss Flowers I hope giving the eulogy gives you some comfort. I was too much of a mess to give the eulogy at my father's funeral but I wrote it and said what I needed to say and what I knew he would want to say to those left behind who he didn't have chance to say goodbye to. It was the one thing that helped me most through a difficult time.

Sorry about your Great Aunt. I recommended this to someone last week. I'm 5'5" and it comes to my knees.

Lands End ponte green dress with sleeves

or how about a frock coat in a gorgeous fabric like velvet or brocade?

If the church is going to be truly freezing you will want to keep your coat on anyway, so an amazing coat might be the way to go?

embroidered velvet jacket. There are some lovely dresses on this site too.

blue Ralph Lauren dress might work, i'm not sure what the colours are in your necklace from the description.
