Thinking ahead to spring - white plimsoll question

Leather or canvas?

What is your view regarding comfort, keeping clean and longevity?

I've had white Converse that lasted a couple of years with machine washing and only wearing them when no rain was forecast :)

But they are definitely not great for a long day of walking around city streets in terms of comfort.

Also, how do you clean white leather plimsolls?

All tips and recommendations much appreciated.

Thanks

I wore a pair of pale leather converses all last summer in dirty old London and they are clean enough to wear again this summer. I used a couple of special products for trainers to keep them in good shape.

A brush - I always made sure to brush them off after I arrived home. Only took a couple of seconds to do and got rid of all the city dust/grime

Shampoo once every fortnight, or when needed

A leather protector - applied twice over the summer

An eraser - used it on the rubber edge of the sole when shampooing

It’s a fair bit of maintenance I suppose, but worth it. They really do look good as new
