Hair disaster / disappointment

My hair is naturally brown but greying.

For a year or so I have been having it bleached and toned (as it blends with the grey less obviously), loved it but it was taking many hours every month to get it done and I struggle so much to fit it in.

So I decided to get it dyed brown again with the view that I can dye it myself in between times. I hate it, the kids hate it, husband says (diplomatically) 'I miss the blonde'.

How long do I have to leave it before I can get it bleached again?

He's also done it a reddy brown so that it didn't go green (or something) which is even worse!

Go back and see your colourist and he should be able to advise you. It depends on the tone/condition of your hair etc.

Where are you based OP? I’ve spent the last 12 months going from dyed bright red to silver grey, in that time my hair has been bleached more times than is good for it and I’ve also gone from bra red length hair to pixie cut silver.
On one occasion I was in the salon for 7 hours and had so many bleaches I can’t remember.
My hair was like straw and if I even wafted straighteners near it it would break BUT, with lots of care at home it’s now great, not perfect but not shot to pieces either.
This was all done by twisting my hairdressers arms, very tightly. He is great and has only done what he’s done because he knows me well and knows that I haven’t expected miracles.
I’m finally there and now am at a stage where we can just do a gentle bleach and tone on my roots to keep the silver, I don’t want salt and pepper hence the full root treatment from now on. This will be every 6 weeks for about 2 hrs per appt.
I’ve got some ‘stage by stage’ pics that I’ll try to post tomorrow.
