Hair loss/postpartum

I didn't know whether to post this in here or in parenting but I hope some hairdressers look at this and can advise me.

I'm 3months post partum and my hair loss has been going for a couple of weeks now. I want to get it cut and coloured, it desperately needs some TLC. Is this the worst time to do it though, if it's falling out anyway or will it help?
Thanks.

Not a hairdresser but I went through the same after dd. The hair that's falling out is hair that is going to fall out anyway now you don't have the pregnancy hormones. It's not hair you can keep hold of as it's part of your normal hair shedding that's been delayed by pregnancy. You could get a blunt cut to make your hair look thicker and maybe some feathering at the front to hide the tufty bits when they grow back in? They might not want to put bleach on new hair growth and I wouldn't have a drastic dye if you want to keep good condition for the rest of your hair but you could have your hairdresser use a gentle dye or put some subtle colours through to give it a nice lift. It will help you feel good to go and get your hair done and they can make it look it's best. I remember really worrying about this at the 3 month stage and hated the sticky up regrowth but it's a short time before it all looked normal again and was more obvious to me than anyone else.
