Suggestions for DH's red sun damaged cheeks?

DH has sun damaged skin on his cheeks. He went to see a dermatologist, he did some sort of acid peel - it didn't work.

The skin is still red and blotchy. What can he use on it to at least moisturise it, keep it calm and prevent further damage?

Hydroquinone. Retinol and a good vitamin c moisturiser. He should also be using a good 50 spf everyday.

Lrp Cicaplast. He should also wear spf 50 (I like lrp melt in cream)

Is it definitely sun damage and not something like rosacea?

Retinols are the best thing for sun damaged skin but if you use them you need to be hyper vigilant about applying a high SPF every day.
