Has anyone had IPL for thread veins?

Did it work? I’m booked in to get IPL on mild facial thread veins and was wondering about other people’s experiences.

I have had fractionated laser, I don't know if IPL works. It was brilliant, and it doesn't hurt. Really worked, and doesn't take long. Just feels a bit warm and my face was a bit pink for about half an hour. I highly recommend it.

justilou - what is fractionated laser and what sort of places do it (beauty salons or medical professionals)?
I've been wanting to treat the little thread veins around my nose for the past few years but am paralysed by indecision about the different types of treatment on offer.

I’ve heard that microsclerotherapy gives better results for thread veins. They inject the veins with a solution that binds the walls together. (Maybe not the best scientific explanation!).

I’m thinking about this for mine around my nose and a couple on my cheeks.

Yes I did and for broken blood vessels on my face. 3 sessions and gone.

Ipl didn’t work, but laser did

I had laser which was expensive and didn't work. I'm going to try ThermaVein and hope it works.

I had it done in a salon. I live in Australia. Ask around. They call it Frac laser. It's different to fraxel as far as I know. Less gruesome for a start! It was brilliant and it hasn't come back. (And our climate is far worse!)

Yeah I’ve had laser before actually and it did work. I wondered if IPL would be better for those super fine ones that you can get on your cheeks that just cause mild redness.

I had IPL on my face, didn't work at all.

Theboldandthebeautiful1 · 22/01/2019 13:57

I’ve had 3 sessions at £75 each and I can’t really see the difference Confused

Well, I’m off tonight for an appointment, so I’ll let you know how it goes. Can’t say I’m holding much hope after the comments 🙈
