I have just realised that....

The dark circles under my eyes aren’t just shadows of my bags, they are actually blue/black skin, like a bruise Shock.

I am very tired and sleep deprived with an 8 week old baby. I’ve had bags for years but never circles like this before. Help!

What is the best remedy/cream/make up to make me look human again Sad

I have those! And a new baby too. I look like someone put shoe polish on binoculars then told me to look through them for a laugh. No idea what the solution is. Probably part of the solution would be sleeping now rather than being on mumsnet, seeing as my baby is actually asleep...

Following this with interest!

Eminybob · 19/01/2019 22:12

Haha yeah my baby is asleep too. I just can’t seem to switch off though. Glad I’m not alone.

Following. I've had dark circles since I was a teenager. No amount of sleep makes them go for me

littlebillie · 19/01/2019 22:16

Sleep, rest and decent nutrition you are tired and have given everything the last 12 months - be kind and realistic

TeddyIsaHe · 19/01/2019 22:17

The Ordinary caffeine serum is your friend. And it’s £5 or so.

halfwitpicker · 19/01/2019 22:28

Yeah man I've got these. Dark pits under my eyes.

What helps :

Drinking coffee (bizarre, I know)
Fake tan
Wearing colours that suit me
Lots of water and moisturiser

Mother87 · 19/01/2019 22:30

Not much help here... but I had those with PFB many moons ago... was horrified/thought they would NEVER go... just like i thought i'd never brush my hair properly/ever wear lipstick/leave the house in under 2 hours/not smell of sick... I thought id done 'permanent' damage to the skinConfused from being so sleep-deprived/knackered... and then lo and behold - everything settled into a routine and my face/eyes went back to normal Grin

Ohdobakeoffdear · 19/01/2019 22:37

I can’t offer any advice on getting rid of the circles as I’ve had them for many many years myself. However, this is my holy grail of concealers. It’s not cheap but it lasts FOREVER and it gives 100% coverage.

MoltonSilver · 19/01/2019 22:56

Low iron can contribute to this.

AliceRR · 19/01/2019 22:59

Drinking more water might help OP

AliceRR · 19/01/2019 23:00

It can just be hereditary too but the fact you haven’t had them all along suggests it is just lack of sleep

Try to sleep when you can OP. I have no advice on how to do this though(!) as my first baby hadn’t arrived yet but is due in a few weeks!

retainertrainer · 19/01/2019 23:29

You need an orange concealer that will cancel out the blue/black. Nyx do a really good colour correcting concealer. Once you’ve blanked out the dark circles pop a little bit of a light reflecting concealer on top.

AliceRR · 19/01/2019 23:56

Yes a colour corrector will help to cover it up. I find a corrector works much better than concealer alone. As a PP said orange is good for cancelling out blue tones or you might find a pinky or peachy corrector works best on you depending on your skin tone

I really like the Bobbi brown one, Benefit erase paste and there’s an Armani one. Haven’t tried the nyx but imagine it’s cheaper. If you go to a counter they could try it out on you. Then just use a normal concealer on top (maybe one you have already)

stillreadviz · 19/01/2019 23:58

I ended up having tear trough fillers as I was so fed up with my inherited deep dark under eye rings, no amount of sleep or water was helping. I can honestly highly recommend it, it's subtle but I know I look a hell of a lot better and it's helped my self esteem so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Eminybob · 20/01/2019 03:02

You lot are great, thank you. I’ll try some of these suggestions (although chance would be a fine thing for more sleep! - I also have a 4 year old so no “sleep when the baby sleeps” for me)

I’ve ordered the ordinary caffeine serum. I’m going to have a look at colour correctors and concealers when I’m next in town.

Had the opportunity for a lie in this morning but didn’t take it, like a fool.
