Has anyone worn both Jimmy Choos and Manolos?

I read that they are more comfortable than normal heels - is it true? And if so, which are better?

Think you have to try them on, Manolos never look right on my feet. Gianvito Rossi & Rupert Sanderson heels are v gd. I’ve never had Jimmy Choo courts, only boots, low heels & sandals & they’ve all been comfortable.

I can't imagine daring to ask to try them on! I am working up to it. Bought a pair of Roberto Cavallis for a party and that was a step up for me. They are v comfortable but, in the cold light of day, look a bit grandma-does-strictly. I would love one day to have v stylish feet. I just have a tendency to take off uncomfortable shoes and wander around barefoot like a hobbit so would need to get it right.

Just looked at Gianvito Rossi shoes and some of them are stunning. Cannot see how they could possibly be comfortable, though! Grin

Yes, I own both, but I wouldn’t say they are more comfortable than other heels unless you’re comparing them to Loubies. Addicted to shoes. My jimmy choos flats and heels are better, they look great on and are true to size. I own a number of pairs. I fell in love with the Manolos, but I’m never comfortable in them, they look stunning on, but I’ve never been happy with them. They are my expensive mistake. I paid too much to part with them. You definitely need to try both on. I found the Manolos not true to size and slightly big. I normally wear a six.

I have two pairs of jimmy choos and although ansoluteky beautiful, they are the opposite of comfy!!!! I bought them/ was bought them when I was young and this didn’t matter! I sometimes just take them out of my closet and look at them now.

verite · 19/01/2019 12:00

In fact if anyone can find a pair of beautiful but comfortable heels I would be willing to pay almost anything for them. They are my holy grail now. Two children and a messed up pelvis seriously damaged my heel wearing abilities!

MrsMarigold · 19/01/2019 12:04

I used to have some criminally uncomfortable Jimmy Choos and did I learn, no, I bought more and guess what still hurt like buggery. Now I wear flat shoes that cost a fraction of the price and my feet are fine.

IKnewTheStorm · 19/01/2019 12:16

I have both and I find Jimmy Choos are far more comfortable. The Romy 85mm heel is easy to wear all day.

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 19/01/2019 14:20

MrsMarigold - I bloody knew it!

I love the look of the Romy 85 but I have serious doubts whether I could wear anything so high. The 100 look like an instrument of of torture! Maybe the 60...

My Jimmy choos are not comfortable for longer periods of time. Ok for a few hours and no dancing! I have 2 pairs of valentino heel however, and they are the comfiest shoes I own. I could wear them all day!

stealthbanana · 19/01/2019 14:53

Choos ime have extremely thin soles which makes them uncomfortable for standing in for long periods of time.

Try acquazurra - they seem to be more padded. Or for lower heels lucy Choi do some great ones that I find incredibly comfortable.

BillyAndTheSillies · 19/01/2019 14:57

Valentino are by far the comfiest designer pairs of shoes that I have.
Jimmy choo wedge back strap cut my feet to shreds but my glitter courts were fairly comfortable.
I find Manolo's too narrow for my feet but they are beautiful shoes.
Would definitely look at 850's instead of 1000. The difference between my 850 and 1000 Louboutins is about 2 hours of wearability - and they're the same shoe model.

mrscampbellblackreturns · 19/01/2019 15:02

Manolos are pretty narrow and therefore not that comfortable for me. I have lots of Choos, the Romys are very comfortable especially in suede. I can run around all day in the 60 but for me the 85 is evening only.

Agree Valentinos also pretty comfortable.

And just go order some from netaporter if you feel intimidated in store although there really is no need. Quite a lot of choos in the sales on nap/mytheresa.

SherlocksDeerstalker · 19/01/2019 15:05

I agree with a PP, Manolo’s always look weird on my feet. I have a pair of SJP’s (by Sarah Jessica Parker, made by Manolo) though that are the most comfortable heels I’ve owned. Very simple and stylish. I’ve had them years. For comfort, I’d recommend Valentino’s, or the Italian brand AGL (Attilio Guidry Leombruni) SUPER comfy, I have a few pairs I can walk miles in.

kalefire · 19/01/2019 15:30

I second Valentino's for comfort. I find they are made slightly wider so if you don't have a skinny supermodel foot they are much better.
