Hair has darkened again after using colour stripper.

I used a colour remover on it about a week ago, which lifted the the dark brown out. I was left with a lightish gingery brown colour, more lighter towards to roots, it was okay. However a week on and it's re-oxidised, so it's darkened, albeit not as dark as before but definitely darkening. And I rinsed & rinsed & rinsed for ages! I haven't used any more dyes. I did do a vitaminc c shampoo mix last night as that did work for me in the past but it's done nothing this time.

I know I can put another colour remover on, but oh god the faff of the rinsing, it's just mind-numbing & there's no guarantee it won't go dark again!

I'd like it to be a couple of shades lighter or it to stay the colour it is when I've just done the colour remover.

Is there anything else I can do? Or am I just going to have to get on with it & either try another go at the colour remover or a last resort a bleach bath at the hairdressers? I'm not brave enough to mess about with bleach at home, I've learnt from past mistakes!

I used a Vit C dose , it did nothing at the time (no colour in the rinsing , nothing on the towel) but within 24 hours (washed it again in the morning) my rogue colour was gone!

It can be a bit drying (mine wasn't thankfully) but it might be worth a repeat . I used about 30 crushed in some dandruff shampoo , over 4 hours on my short hair
