Shoes that are designed to actually be used?

Y'know like walking to and from work (30mins) without the heels wearing to nothing (not high heels, just normal ones) or the soles developing holes within weeks?

I'm getting really fed up with shoes not actually being up to the job of light walking.

I could get some proper walking boots or sometging but that seems ridiculous for walking around town on a weekend.

Doesn't seem to matter whether they are cheap or expensive.

I had a pair of EarthSpirit boots that I walked miles and miles in (probably 20 miles a week) that lasted for 3 years and were ever so comfortable.

Gabor, Ecco and Rieker all last well. I also have several pairs of camel active boots which are virtually indestructible, but they're becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of, over here.

I live in superga's. Super comfy.

If I need to be dressier I wear Schuh brand ankle boots. Only £50 and they are on their 2nd winter. Really surprised how comfy and well made thy are. Can't find a link to them unfortunately.

I've got some lace ups from Shoe zone which are comfortable and look exactly like DMs. I'm always getting compliments on them and they were peanuts. Fit my wide feet too.
