Last minute invitation to the opening night of a local art exhibition. What would you wear? Smart casual was my first thought but now unsure and certainly don't want to stick out like a sore thumb!

Black

AdaColeman · 18/01/2019 16:32

Black with bright coloured jewellery and red lipstick, dark blue nail.

Littlechocola · 18/01/2019 16:34

Where is the exhibition? A gallery (what sort), college, hall, library etc?

QuaterMiss · 18/01/2019 16:37

Go as an extreme version of you.

SimplyPut · 18/01/2019 16:53

It's in a museum that has various guest exhibitions every three months. The museum itself is free but to see this exhibit its £12 fir a few months.

Love @QuaterMiss suggestion, may make this my life's motto. Black with bright accessories works for me!

Whatever you want... you cannot be under or over dressed! Enjoy.

Openings are your opportunity to experiment with stuff you might feel is a bit special or OTT for RL. QuaterMiss has nailed it.

Thank you for all your help. I wore a black shift dress with 3/4 sleeves and a round neck, new Oliver Bonas necklace, grey stud earrings, large grey Qudo ring, black suede boots and slouchy grey bag.

I felt fab and inspired to be more me!
