Best tinted moisturiser?

NanooCov · 17/01/2019 16:12

I rarely wear make up day to day but have come to the conclusion that a good tinted moisturiser might be good to smooth out my (showing its 41 years of age) skin. I can't be bothered with foundation of a morning while trying to get two kids and myself out the door by 7.30 so a moisturiser with a little bit of coverage would be ideal. Then I can add a bit of mascara and maybe lippy in the train to make myself look and feel more human. My skin is combination usually, though the winter weather is taking its toll and probably on the dry side currently. I suffer from breakouts occasionally (usually around my period) but not too bad. I am very fair (Scottish mousey blonde).

Anyone have any suggestions? I don't mind spending a bit given I rarely do splurge on make up.

I always wear tinted moisturiser. I’ve tried loads.

My favourite is Bobby Brown tinted moisturising balm. FB feeling on your skin. They do very pale tints too.

Annasgirl · 17/01/2019 16:27

Sorry posted too soon.

I’ve also worn Laura Mercier TM in radiance - she has two versions, the other is Matt. This is nice but no skin care.

Finally I am now wearing Bare Minersls TM but it is very watery. However they do loads of shades.

If you need a cheaper one for running about - I wear one to drop the kids on my way for a run so obviously I don’t wear an expensive one - Garnier BB cream is amazing.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 17/01/2019 16:27

Watching this with interest- I’ve been using a L’Oréal cc cream but as I’ve lost my tan it’s waaay too dark for my skin tone.

I need to replace it for my hospital bag for going in to have DC2, so can’t be arsed about with a seperate moisturiser and foundation that I need to mix myself.

pinkground202 · 17/01/2019 16:34

I'm using the Chanel Les Beiges tinted moisturiser, I love it and have just bought another. I'm very pale, especially at this time of year, and this makes me look healthy with a subtle glow. It has SPF 30 too.

KaliforniaDreamz · 17/01/2019 16:36

I also wear tinted moisturiser, just feels less 'covered'
anyway my favourite is Dermalogica UltraCalmingâ„¢ Ultra Sensitive Tint SPF30 but they no longer do it which is so annoyng.
theyve replaced it with this which i didn't like as much

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 17/01/2019 16:37

My favourites are Nars Radiant and Chantecaille just skin, but I have a different colouring and am not sure what their colour range for fair skin is.

KaliforniaDreamz · 17/01/2019 16:41

also my tip is to have it by the door with a mascara that way you can do it in seconds before you rush out the door

Lottapianos · 17/01/2019 16:43

Not a tinted moisturiser as such but I adore my Rimmel BB cream. Easy to blend and looks beautiful all day. Only in 4 colours though

KaliforniaDreamz · 17/01/2019 16:47

Lotta i never really get teh diff between BB creams and tinted moisturiser and foundation. that makes me feel old saying that

i have also tried Clarins tinted moisturiser and it feels lovely and velvety on the skin but to me a bit powedery once it settles. i prefer a dewey look

Lottapianos · 17/01/2019 16:48

Me neither Kalifornia Grin

KaliforniaDreamz · 17/01/2019 16:49

we can just pretend lol

ask me anything

NanooCov · 17/01/2019 16:56

Thanks all. There is a Space NK near my office so will take a look tomorrow as I know they stock NARS, Chantecaille and Laura Mercier, and maybe some of the others too.

I loive Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. I have sensitive skin, and it's been brilliant. comes in loads of shades

KaliforniaDreamz · 17/01/2019 17:32

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue - that looks really nice i would def try that. where do u get it from Linetta1?

MaryLennoxsScowl · 17/01/2019 23:41

I am Scottish too and I found Bobbi Brown is a bit too yellow for me. Laura Mercier and Chanel have better colour tones for peely-wally skin!

DeRigueurMortis · 18/01/2019 00:08

Space NK also stock hourglass, so you have the opportunity to try that also if you fancy it.

LaurenOrdering · 18/01/2019 00:12

My favourites are Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturiiser SPF20 & also Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin Sheer Tinted Oil Free SPF20.
I have tried the Garnier BB Anti Ageing & it was rubbish.

DeRigueurMortis · 18/01/2019 00:18

Sorry - just to add a use the hourglass product below and love it.

It's got Hyaluronic acid in it and gives a dewy glow.

https://www.spacenk.com/uk/enGB/makeup/complexion/tinted-moisturiser/illusion-hyaluronic-skin-tint-spf15-MUK200014256.html?dwvarr_MUK200014256color=UK200014237&cmmmmc=Affiliates2116208208--Space--NK&utmmsource=linkshare&utmmedium=affiliate&utmmcampaign=2116208&utmcontent=10&utmm_term=2116208&ranMID=36362&ranEAID=TnL5HPStwNw&ranSiteID=TnL5HPStwNw-XkhILTKsfAPWqbtMMrz6mQ

I also use with the hourglass palette which I'm on my 2nd version of (having hit the pan on all six products). It's pricy but you get 2 ambient lighting powders, 2 blushers, a bronzer and strobe highlighter. I also use the bronzer as an eye shadow.

www.spacenk.com/uk/en_GB/makeup/sets-palettes/complexion/ambient-lighting-edit-volume-4-MUK200022277.html

I have to say these items are now my "go to" beauty products and between them I can do my makeup in 5 mins (just add some mascara- I use a L'Oréal one in a rose gold tube, I think it's called Paradise and my favourite Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in. Bond Girl.

If your going to Space NK I'd definitely test them (you can buy the powders separately but tbh I think the palette is better value overall unless you don't like some of the colours).

PinaColada1 · 18/01/2019 00:18

Laura mercier do a nice glowing one.

Sisley tinted sun cream.

I’m in my 40s and I’ve tried cheaper ones, but honestly find I’ve got to spend more.

I mix these with a moisturiser too though, so it’s light sheer coverage and lasts ages.

Pantsomime · 18/01/2019 00:22

Estée Lauder Double Wear tinted- goes x 2 shades darker than your skin-therefore only comes in one colour - lovely

FloofyDoof · 18/01/2019 13:24

I like the la roche posay one, I use the hydreane one but they do a few different ones for different skin types, all about £15 I think. The light shade is light enough for super pale me to not look orange, garnier makes me look like an oompa loompa, as does the olay one.

NanooCov · 18/01/2019 13:55

Thanks all. I went with the Chantecaille Just Skin and it feels lovely.
