Make up lesson in central London

Can anyone recommend a really good make up lesson? Maybe Selfridges or somewhere like that?

I thought I was doing quite well with make up as I've got a foundation that matches my face and wear blusher, eyeliner, mascara and sometimes even lipstick. For special occasions, I wear a neutral brownish eye shadow. I've got dark brows and lashes and pretty good skin.

Went out for my sister's birthday wearing what I thought was quite full make up. In the mirror, I looked good. In the photos, I look like a sack of spanners. I just look like I'm wearing no make up at all. I want to be able to look more 'done' and to look less like a toolbox in photos. Who will help me?

You can book make up lessons at Mac in Harrods, Selfridges etc. Go to the Mac website and you can book through there.

Try Bobbie Brown in Covent Garden, I think you pay for the lesson/makeover but can get your money back if redeemed against products.

Thank you - I will see which has appointments on the day I come up to town.

These people are absolutely amazing at teaching you how to do it.

I've booked in with Cosmetics A La Carte for lessons when we're there in March. I have a friend who did it and raves about them. She said they don't pressure you to buy at all, which appeals to me as I've already got quite a few bits, it's technique I'm lacking!

I've messaged a bunch of my friends to ask if they fancy the group masterclass at Cosmetics a la Carte - what a brilliant idea! Thank you both so much for the recommendation. Fingers crossed they are up for it!
