Ankle boots not mum boots

So I'm desperate for some ankle boots but how do I know when I've veered into "mum boot" territory?
(Yes I know I'm a mum too, but we all know what I mean!)

I posted my mum boots the other week but I’ve kept them Now after shoe boot type ones for with frocks/ skirts so will follow and steal ideas!
