Help! Swimsuit for a size 14, where??

PsychedelicSheep · 15/01/2019 13:22

Hey all

My lovely sister is taking me for a spa day for my 40th which was a couple of weeks ago, but I've nothing to wear!

Have gained a bit of weight due to a chronic muscular skeletal issue and am about a 12-14, size 34DD/32E boobs. I'm fortunate enough to still have a bit of a waist but I have a belly and a big jiggley bum and thighs.

What sort of swimsuit or bikini should I go for??

I'm quite a hippy/boho dresser generally, live in harems and similar.

Any advice would be very appreciated!

Can’t go wrong with classic black. This looks like it has good support in the cups www.swimwear365.co.uk/products/black-rsquo-sienna-rsquo-swimsuit-by-lascana/_/A-72620263_18B?PFM_rsn=browse&PFM_ref=true&PFM_psp=own&PFM_lpn=11

Boden are good

fitflopqueen · 15/01/2019 21:50

try bravissimo or brastop and get one that fits your top half properly so much better than a standard 14 which tend to squish bigger boobs

Jeffjefftyjeff · 15/01/2019 21:52

Halter neck with bit of a control bit on tummy. Try figleaves (the cup size options confuse me but I’ve found the normal size 14, 16 or whatever fine). Or Next.

I have a really nice one from decathlon, it looks like shorts and vest but its all in one.

Great suggestions, thanks. I also found this article which was helpful, although i expect the ones linked to are long gone:

I think ordering by cup size is a good idea 👍🏼

I like zoggs ones

NannyMcfanny · 16/01/2019 07:00

For Luna. Swimwear that is classic, pretty and superb quality.

anniehm · 16/01/2019 07:56

I have a miracle suit but it's annoying to get on. My favourite one is from figleaves 34dd.

Hunter007 · 17/01/2019 21:23

I second For Luna. They are super flattering and last years. This is my fave www.forluna.co.uk/collections/ladies-one-piece-retro-swimsuits/products/the-jewel-emerald-green-retro-swimsuit

PsychedelicSheep · 17/01/2019 22:10

For Luna look fab, thanks!

Asda! They have some lovely bits in at the minute. I bought a post-surgery one (I have not had surgery) and it's so flattering. Very good value for money!

I'm a size 14, 34E, and I've just ordered this costume from Oasis:
http://www.oasis-stores.com/gb/clothing/swimwear/stripe-2-way-swimsuit/066790.html?dwvar0667900_color=61&position=22&cgid=swimwear#page=1&hideFeatured=false&start=22&categoryID=swimwear

I've also just bought a pink bikini from swimwear365:
https://www.swimwear365.co.uk/products/pink-push-up-bikini-top-by-buffalo//A-506032214D?searchResults=true&PFMrsn=search&PFMMref=false&PFMpsp=own&PFMMlpn=1&PFMtrm=pink+push%2dup+bikini+top+by+buffalo++506032wsu++option%3a+14d

Last year I got some lovely high waisted bikinis from Debenhams and Boux Avenue (lower tummy is my problem area) and you buy the top and the bottoms separately, with the bikini tops in bra sizes

MinesaPinot · 18/01/2019 09:25

I'm a size 14/16, 34E or 36D (depending on what store I'm in!) and I've bought some really good swimwear in Sainsburys and Peacocks of all places. Lots of different shapes to try on, and really nice fit.

I was also in Next this morning, and they are just getting their swimwear in. Their bikinis seemed to have really nice deeper pants with a fold over top (good for bigger tummies IMO) and you can buy the tops separately.

Rachel468 · 18/01/2019 15:00

I like For Luna and Boden for swimsuits. Good quality and flattering imo

Betty777 · 18/01/2019 16:28

agreed - Boden swimwear is good for curves and if you stay away from the prints some look very cool

halter necks are supportive and flattering for bigger boobs
