Dry Shampoo Mess

Mama2Cat · 14/01/2019 10:17

If I do not come up with a solution soon I will be husbandless!!

I regularly use dry shampoo (because who has time to wash their hair everyday!), I try to keep the mess to one room (the spare room)... however a couple of days of spray and it looks like there has been a snow storm - absolutely everything gets a film of white dust. I use the batiste original, no matter how careful I am... it seems to cover the whole room.

Any recommendations of a less messy but just as good dry shampoo brand or how to avoid having a snow showered room?

That's so strange, I use it regularly too but have never had this issue. Maybe you're not spraying it directly on your hair enough?

jellybean85 · 14/01/2019 10:21

How odd! I use it every other day and don't have any issues. I use batiste, I've found the own brand ones a bit shit

MrsJayy · 14/01/2019 10:23

You are not spraying on your head sounds like you are wafting it about and using too much spray closer to your hair and brush it through you are not meant to use it every day

Outherelivingmybestlife · 14/01/2019 10:23

Same here! Not worth wasting money on anything other than batiste IMO.

MrsJayy · 14/01/2019 10:24

I am am imagining some sort of foam party in your spare roomGrin

itbemay · 14/01/2019 10:24

try spraying close to the roots only? that's what I do and no mess here either.

Greekcatslovesouvlaki · 14/01/2019 10:25

Aussie is good and clear, but agree it needs to be sprayed more directly at your head

MrsJayy · 14/01/2019 10:26

I use Aussie and there isn't any residue.

Branleuse · 14/01/2019 10:27

this has never happened to me. Maybe youre using too much

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 14/01/2019 10:31

what are you doing with it??

I use it often enough, most days tbh as I use it for volume on my stupid fine hair, and I an pretty frivolous with it, keep mine in the bathroom and have not noticed any excess snow storms :o

I only use batiste too, that aussie one made my hair feel all weird and then in a few hours it would slump and look awful, flat and in need of a jolly good wash.

holidayarmadillo2019 · 14/01/2019 11:12

I use batiste and this doesn't happen to me either.
it sounds like you are maybe using a little to much? Could you try tipping your head over the bath when spraying and just rinsing any excess residue away?

etnagreen · 14/01/2019 11:24

The klorane one is much better!
But more expensive, but you don’t need loads!

Hoppinggreen · 14/01/2019 12:12

Aussi miracle, it’s clear so leaves no residue on either you or your bathroom

Outherelivingmybestlife · 14/01/2019 14:32

(I only use batiste too, that aussie one made my hair feel all weird*

Me too. Made my hair feel dirty and didn't actually make it look much different.

Tighnabruaich · 14/01/2019 15:56

Are you spraying it the way you would use hairspray perhaps? You need to direct it to your roots, not waft it around. Maybe that would help? I use Batiste and don't have this problem.

Roobub · 16/01/2019 03:19

Yeah sounds like you might be using it... A bit weirdly?!?! It's great stuff, I only was my hair once or twice a week because its very long and thick and needs a lot of styling so I rely on Batiste to get me through the last few days before a wash! Don't have this problem at all though. I only use it on the roots and spray pretty directly on that area though.

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 16/01/2019 03:25

I use this, never had this issue, I have visions of you spraying it around the room now!

Cleffa · 16/01/2019 04:22

I use Tesco's own one, far less powdery than Batiste IMO, and cheaper!

I've never had alot of excess residue with any brand though, how are you applying it?

I spray it to roots/top of hair then use a towel to "rough dry" as if I'd washed my hair properly, then brush through.

Monty27 · 16/01/2019 04:32

Batiste here too. What mess? Confused

Hunter007 · 17/01/2019 21:24

Bumble & Bumble dry shampoo is pricey but changed my hair life. Can't live without it!
