My ear piercing is too high

I’ve got quite big ear lobes, my piercing is pretty central on my love and is just too high. Smaller earring don’t sit right and it’s annoying me.

Does anyone know if anything can be done?

Have you just had them done? If so, they may heal over if you take your earrings out now.

If not, are you piercings in the place where a second earring piercing would go? If so, you could have your first holes pierced underneath these ones. Then you would have first and second holes pierced in each ear.

This may sound a bit simplistic, but just take the earring out, get yourself some piercing needles from Amazon, and stick a hole in where you want it. The higher hole may heal if it's recent, and if it isn't, it'll probably be hidden by the earrings in the new piercing. Piercing your own ears isn't difficult, so long as you make sure everything is sterile - it doesn't even hurt much. If you can't face it, get thee to a decent piercer (NOT somewhere that uses a gun) and they'll sort it for you.

The high piercings are about 25 years old, I doubt they’ll heal.

Can I put a second hole about 5mm from the second without risking it splitting or something horrific?

Maybe I contact a piercing place, I feel a little intimidated by them.

My step dad did my piercings with a cork and pin when I was 5, I wore creoles constantly for the next 5 years, he did them so high that I can't wear certain earnings and they won't close, 48 now x

I don't know whether they would split/join together if you did that.

Yep, just go to a piercer with a good reputation and ask them what they can do.

A second hole 5mm away wouldn't be a problem - I have 3 holes in each lobe (4 of them self-done, 2 original by a piercer) about that distance apart, and have never had any issues with them - unless I put something with nickel in it in them, in which case everything goes weepy!

You’ve got to have some nerve to pierce your own (or your child’s!) ears! Blimey!
Yes I too would say go and speak to a professional about it.
