HD brows.. are they worth it?

So there's a lot of salons near me charging £30-£40 for HD brows..

Are they just the same as a brow wax and tint or am I missing something here? 😩

When I see the 'after' pictures it always looks as though they've got makeup on their brows, like a powder.. or is the finish from the tint?

Following as I’m also thinking of getting them done. But salons near me charge £65!

Wow they are expensive, I pay £20 for hd brows. They do always look amazing afterwards but it is just a tint and wax. At the end they put powder on but obviously that comes off when you take your make up off. I always put pencil on so I don't see the point anymore, I just get them waxed

I started getting hd brows but then just continued with a tint and wax when I realised the hd bit was just putting brow makeup powder on. I love my tint and wax.

sonlypuppyfat · 12/01/2019 18:06

I think they look really silly

JustBeenNosey · 12/01/2019 18:18

So these brows are by someone who lives local to me.. do these have the 'powder' on them?

Sorry I'm not clued up with these HD products. I had mine semi permanent tattood but I'm thinking is it worth having them re done, or micro bladed or just tinted when I have them waxed 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
I'm wanting to try grow them into a thicker brow so I'll just see how it goes I suppose

Hmm maybe I’ll just get mine tinted. I don’t want them shaped as they’re too sparse as it is - I can’t risk someone taking any more off!

SqueakyChicken · 12/01/2019 18:38

HD tint all your hairs, even the little white ones you can’t see, and make a new shape out of them. It’s hard to explain but they’re much better than a normal tint and wax. Although once you’ve got the perfect shape from HD there’s nothing to stop you topping up with a normal tint and wax.

JustBeenNosey · 12/01/2019 18:53

@SqueakyChicken ahh okay!

What's the difference between HD tint and normal tint?

My best friend is beauty therapist and has her own shop but she won't do HD as a lot of her customers won't pay it as they don't think it's worth it.

I know what you're thinking, why don't you just ask your best mate.. but I'll get a variety of views and opinions on here 😬

It’s not a bog standard tint, they’ll mix the tint up with different shades that suits your colour perfectly. For me, it’s mostly about the shape they give you. When I’ve gone elsewhere they’ll mostly tidy up the stragglers but keep the shape I’ve got and tint that. With HD they basically reshape your brow... they do it to suit your face shape etc.

JustBeenNosey · 12/01/2019 19:39

@SqueakyChicken ahhh okay! Thank you!

I have had them in the past and they didn’t look any better or last any longer than a bog standard shape and tint.

I am middle aged and my brows are so sparse and grey they were pretty much invisible without weekly tinting......until I discovered the glory that is microblading. It should last at least a year and my eyebrows are always perfect. It’s taken years off me and truly transformed my appearance. For the first time in my life I have grown out my fringe and am confident enough to go out without makeup.....sometimes!

JustBeenNosey · 12/01/2019 20:23

I might just start getting them tinted as well when I have them waxed then!

Yeah I've been looking at microblading.. doe sit only last about a year? There's some good people near me but they're about £200 and then another £100 for the top up 😩🙈
