Fake tan HELP

JustBeenNosey · 12/01/2019 14:15

So I haven't worn fake tan in about 5/6years..

I just used to slap it on and not both with moisturising or exfoliating and all that shit.

What should you be doing before/during/after to make sure you don't look like a patchy umpa loopma?

Any help is much appreciated! Will probably use the good old trusty st moriz 😂👍🏼

Exfoliate and moisturiser well 24hrs before hand. Also any hair removal should be done 24hr before. Quick shower before you put it on to get off all moisturiser, deodorant etc. Blast of cold water at end of shower to close your pores. Lash it on and hope for the best.

Don’t shower just before tanning. Even with cold water your pores will still be open and the result won’t look as good.

I’ll start off by saying I use normal moisturiser every day to keep my skin soft. But when it comes to tanning I have a nice soak in the bath and I exfoliate and shave etc. I use an in shower moisturiser instead of a normal one. I then wait a couple of hours before fake tanning and then I go to bed. That way by the time I fake tan, I’m all smooth and my pores have closed

I then wake up in the morning and hop in the shower again. I only wash the important parts with shower gel.
To keep my tan looking nice I continue to moisturise daily and when I’m in the shower I use my hands to wash my body rather than a sponge

Use the Dove one? It’s in a beige tube and everywhere sells it

It’s my favourite and it’s cheap too . Just use after a shower and a flannel and jobs done

JustBeenNosey · 13/01/2019 17:34

@stopfuckingshoutingatme the tinted moisturiser?

I had a few disasters with that.. always went streaky and I'd miss patches with it and always had orange hands 😂😂

Im a whiter shade of pale and was always worried i would look daft with fake tan but i tried isle of paradise mouse last year, absolutely brilliant! You can buy from boots, they have a tanning water and drops too

JustBeenNosey · 13/01/2019 19:52

@Fstar I usually go on sunbeds, I know they're dangerous and whatever but it's one of them things isn't it..🙈😂

I'll have a look for that and give it a go x
