Is there somewhere like Duo or Bravissimo for trousers

I have very pronounced calf muscles.
Ever since skinny/tapered trousers became fashionable about 10 years ago, I have had massive difficulty in getting trousers that fit - they just get stuck on the widest part of my calfs. Sometimes 3 sizes up works, but then they are enormous!

I have 1 Boden style of straight leg jeans in 4 colours because they fit over my lower legs - fit like skinnies anyway, not the straight legs they are meant to be! I have one pair of Uniqlo work trousers which just about fit on the lower leg, albeit are rather baggy from the knee up.

I’d really like a bit of variety, but nothing I try fits!!! I have just sent 8 pairs of trousers I bought in Christmas sales. I much prefer wearing trousers to dresses/skirts.

I don't have an answer that definitely will work for you but have you tried mens trousers?

Iv recently tried with a pair of jeans (slim skinny primark) and a pair of suit trousers (skinny fit, primark) and not all but some fit much better

They are higher cut, have better pockets, they aren't "painted on" tight! And they go by waist size/leg length so it easier to size up and down with them.

My dd is like this, she can't even get a pair of long boots. I suggested that she tried Evans, she is a size 14 and their clothes seem to be cut a bit more generously. Fat face is good for trousers too. M and S, Matalin and peacocks were all a bit rubbish.

BunloafAndCrumpets · 10/01/2019 23:04

This isn't a great answer but I have some jeans from next called either 360 degree stretch or 4way stretch (can't remember and baby sleeping next to me so can't check!). They look like jeans but stretch a lot. Would they be any good perhaps?

I can't help but watching with interest.
I have size 10 waist, 12 hips and probably size 16 calves.

In summer I have some Boden chinos, but struggle for winter work trousers.

EShakti.

Can't vouch for the trousers but I quite like their dresses.

LoniceraJaponica · 10/01/2019 23:20

White Stuff Jade jeggings have generous leg widths.

BikeRunSki · 10/01/2019 23:39

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Hello LoniceraJaponica, i’ve not had any luck with WS in the past, but i’ll take a look. look, but I still need something more formal for work (I think I “know” you by a previous username).

Ginkythefangedhellpigofdoom erm no...,, I am far too curvy for men’s trousers. I have tried!!

I have had no joy with Boden, Fat Face, White Stuff or Seasalt either..
Sad

Cattreats I havn’t heard of them, i’ll have a look.

Jeans aren’t actually a problem really, as modern jeans to be very stretchy anyway. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Next 360 jeans, so I will bear them in mind next time I need jeans bunloafandcrumpets.

I have found trousers that fit!

I have bought and returned an awful lot of trousers in the last few weeks.

Boden Richmond trousers in a size up seem to be the ones. Just as well, as my only pair of work trousers that fits my legs is beginning to fall apart.

Yes! I came on to recommend Boden Richmond!

A while ago I remember reading about a body scanner for jeans. I think they had it at Selfridges but no idea if they still do or if it is available in the UK still. I've not heard about it for a long time - Bodymetrics.

teta · 27/01/2019 13:33

Isn’t this Me & Em’s selling point - perfectly fitting trousers for everyone.

BikeRunSki · 27/01/2019 17:16

I don't know @teta, but I started binning their catalogues when everything started being over £100 and they were asking for crowd funding.

OP posts:
teta · 27/01/2019 17:26

Gosh did they?
If I’d realised that I would have binned them too!
I must have missed that. I do think the prices are horrific but I just buy in the sales. Plus I’m little so I buy the cropped trousers.
