THose fleece BIRKENSTOCKS......

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 10/01/2019 08:35

I am inexplicably drawn and know not why. Completely fugly and impracticable, yet on some level I have a yen.

Peri-menopausal comfort urges? So bad they are good?

Do I need to have a word with myself? 😁

These are the feckers.... I feel being a child of the seventies might have some bearing on this....

I’ve seen them on Insta worn with socks. That’s a look that’s not for the faint hearted.

Best worn as slippers never to leave the house imo Grin (but then I’m not a Birkie fan anyway, fleece or no fleece)

Fantababy · 10/01/2019 08:42

Good Lord. Just don't. They'll make it look like you have really hairy feet.

Laiste · 10/01/2019 08:47

Nice as slippers. Or inbetween's.

The outside of our house is a terrible mess at the mo due to building work and you can't even pop out 2 meters to the bin without shoes on. These would bridge the gap ...

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 10/01/2019 08:50

I love them but feel similar to you. So not my usual style. Plus, Birkies are I famous for getting whiffy, can you imagine what they be like with a furry insole [gag]

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 10/01/2019 08:50

*infamous

Thanks autocorrect

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 10/01/2019 08:52

I WOULD also like to nominate laminate floors for the explosion in fleece related footwear in recent times. They have to be connected surely?

I love Birkies and also find myself strangely attracted to these. Fortunately the style police (adult daughters) have put them on the forbidden list 🤗

BillywigSting · 10/01/2019 09:24

Those are neither stylish nor beautiful my god do they look comfortable.

I feel like they're the unwanted lovechild of an ugg boot and a sandal though. I don't think they really know what they're supposed to be.

MoltonSilver · 10/01/2019 09:24

Surely if it's cold enough for sheepskin, it's too cold for sandals.

Sitranced · 10/01/2019 10:40

What Molton said.

CatnissEverdene · 10/01/2019 10:42

My adult DDs would disown me, but is it wrong to think they would just feel sooooooooooo good on Blush

silkpyjamasallday · 11/01/2019 16:13

Celine sent their own version down the catwalk a few years ago, so they are the height of fashion amongst certain people clearly. I love them and want them in black, to wear with socks, but I am yet to bite the bullet as they are pretty £££.

dudsville · 11/01/2019 17:27

I have an entirely dark grey pair, i.e. the fleece is the same colour as the wool straps. These are house shoes for me anger they are wonderful.

Pashazade · 11/01/2019 17:34

I have a pair of single strap ones. I love them. They are perfect for just popping out to do bins or get firewood in. I don't wear hard soled slippers in the house (so these are perfect when I need protection from wet floors) They also warm my feet up nicely if I've failed to put my slipper socks on!

HildaZelda · 11/01/2019 17:40

Oh dear God NO!!!! Shock

Todamhottoday · 11/01/2019 18:12

Hold my hand up I have a pair in brown...but mine are sheepskin lined. Fleece I would not buy , I have not seen the synthetic ones

Along with the other dozen Birkinstocks I own.

I bought them in TKMaxx so a lot cheaper than online at about £29..

But in my defence I have wood/brick/rug floors which need a good pair of insulated soles and usually buy felt German 'Haus Shoes'

To me, yes they are comfy like the Arizona style, but the sheepskin has flattened very quickly and not as luxurious as I expected them to be. So much so Im now wearing them with socks, (cashmere darling), no-one else can comment on them, DH just shakes his head.

Would I buy them full price at over £100, no I would not recommend

TwitterQueen1 · 11/01/2019 18:38

They are horrendous OP, but in a very call-of-the-siren way.... Grin Grin

LaPampa · 11/01/2019 18:47

I’m strangely drawn them too. And very practical for when I need to go outside but not get my nice danish wool slippers wet 😀

FaFoutis · 11/01/2019 18:50

Imagine the first time you put your bare feet into them.
I want some.

Didiusfalco · 11/01/2019 18:50

Oh god they look comfortable! But surely not for outside? The fur would get ruined first wear.

Notquiteagandt · 11/01/2019 18:50

I have the fur lined bostons that I wear around the house. So comfy! Keep seeing them on instagram with people wearing them outside a la scandi style. But dont think I am brave enough for that!!

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 11/01/2019 20:14

I love birkies and am a lover of all things fugly in the footwear department but seriously, wtf is the point in them🤨

Feet would be cold without socks, completely hideous and pointless with socks!
