Leather boots, can’t decide, can you assist?

I’m searching for a pair of dark brown leather boots.
Requirements are - stupid;y narrow calf, and the boot shaft not to be too high.
Many regular sizes swamp me to (for instance, the latest Joules knee highs, although lovely, looked like wellies on me) so I’ve tended to avoid them in past in favour of Chelsea boots and docs.

I am currently trying to decide between two pairs:
1st image Clark’s Orinoco (have tried on and they fit well and really suit me)
2nd image Fairfax & Favor Explorer (not tried, worried they’ll be too long in leg although width sounds good, and have my size in sale)

I’m 5’4, and wear 30 inch leg jeans if that helps!

I prefer the style of the Explorer boots so do you think I’d be disappointed with the Clarks?

Yy to duo boots. They have a shop in bath if you are able to visit

Ah sadly the asham duo boots are only available in my size at a 36cm calf width. My calf measures 31 :(

Still, the 36cm Clark’s boots were ok over jeans so I’m confused.

Will probably sit and wait.
Thanks for all of your help so far!

I’d forgotten about duo! My sister is tiny and buys her boots from there.

I think the Valverde boots may be too big for you. I’ve got fairly muscly calves and they’re not tight on me.

My favourite boots in the entire world are my Frye boots. I've had them for about 9 years and they just get better with each use. I wear them about 4 times a week. They are an American company, but ship internationally.

Good luck on your quest! Smile

Oh... I know this is a bit late... BUT!!! My husband very kindly bought me a pair or explorer boots for my birthday. Then after hours of research (and with MN help) I discovered the valverde boots... so I ordered a pair of their waterproof boots and kept the F&F version to compare. As far as I can tell, other than the branding on the tassel.. they are identical!! What a bargain. So I'm sending back the ££ F&F pair and getting a pair of the Kate boots too... and still not spending as much as the branded pair. Do love a bargain. However, I'm 5'3 and a runner so my calves are not tiny - think they are about 35cm... so maybe they would be too big for you? :(

2nd pair , I don't like the higher heel on the first pair . Second pair look way more expensive!

Hi again, and thanks for the additional comments.

I went with a different pair from Clark’s in the sale, and have regretted it since.
I usually spend the winter in a mixture of doc Chelsea boots and various wellies - and the difference was remarkable. So much pain! They are almost impossible to break in and next to my docs seem really thin and uncomfortable.

I did get a good reduction, so not too much cash down the drain.

Am thinking of Ariat for next winter perhaps.
