If you could have any colour, style or length and wouldn't have to worry about practical boring things like roots and work-suitability, what would you have?

I would love a pixie with a funky faux hawk. Maybe in a dark grey. My features aren't delicate enough for it sadly.

Or a lovely pastel pink or hot pink swishy do. Unfortunately my hair is too dark to make that sensible.

I saw a woman on the train who had the most amazing plum pink with purple ends. I was in awe. She also had a beautiful pea green coat. I really wanted her hair (and coat).

Today - this one. Obviously, I'd have to look like her as well. But I'd just wake up and ruffle it and it'd look like this. All the time.

This one. I am far more grey and blonde and my hair is impossibly straight. Love this tousled look and the fab lowlights.

Swedish I'd love to look like her too! So easy and effortless, but utterly beautiful.

Flannelled · 08/01/2019 23:07

@SwedishEdith with the right cut that would work really well with my hair. Alas I am not trendy enough (or pretty enough) to make that look intentional and it would just look like I'd cut my own hair!

@IamFrauBlucher I love the tusled look too. It lasts to my front door. Then weather and I look like I've just got up.

In theory, it'd work with mine as well. Until it grew and I had to style it myself.

CountFosco · 08/01/2019 23:15

I have a reddish very short pixie. I'm petite and it really suits me and it's practical and I do love it.

But in my dreams I'd have dark wavy hair. My lovely SIL has dark wavy hair. My brother has dark wavy hair. My DH has dark wavy hair. My daughter has the kind of dark messy wavy hair that women spend a fortune trying to replicate. Sigh.

TokyoSushi · 08/01/2019 23:18

This! I've asked for it at various hairdressers many times but they've never got it right Hmm

Long, shiny, straight dark brown hair. I swear my life would've turned out better with that hair .

AcrossthePond55 · 08/01/2019 23:49

I've got that cut FrauBlucher, just a wee bit shorter. I wish I could 'wash and wear' it and have it look like that! I've got curly, frizz-prone hair and it take a lot of time, work, and product to make it look that 'effortlessly messy'. I'll never have 'wash and wear' hair. Sigh

PickAChew · 08/01/2019 23:57

Hair currently close to Swedish Edith and it did look great, yesterday, until I went out in the drizzle and it all curled up at random.

halfwitpicker · 09/01/2019 12:09

Either an ice blond pixie or if not I'd take really thick, heavy blonde hair that sits right.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 09/01/2019 13:04

Long red curls, like Demelza in Poldark.

Although to be honest not to be cursed with a double crown would be a something.

Mine is a straight bob, albeit swishy, and ash blonde (by which I mean grey!). Boo.

SapphireSeptember · 09/01/2019 13:10

Ankle length black hair that's a bit more wavy than mine is (it's fairly straight but has wavy bits, unlike my younger brother who has the most lovely wavy hair when he grows it out. Envy ) And I want it a bit thicker than it is at the moment. With coloured streaks every now and again. (Pink, purple, red, blue, green, grey or white depending on my mood or outfit.) And I want a widow's peak.

etnagreen · 09/01/2019 13:16

Sapphire why would you like a widows peak? I have a few family members with strong ones and they are always complaining about them? Smile

SapphireSeptember · 10/01/2019 23:13

I just think they look really lovely, I always have. Smile

toffee1000 · 11/01/2019 05:45

I’m fine with what I have, actually. It’d look nicer if it was blow-dried straight, although not poker straight. I used to have long hair but it’s v thick and curly and was a nightmare to deal with. Shoulder length is fine.

Bamchic · 11/01/2019 05:49

Thick but not frizzy waist length hair. Probably blonde or maybe auburn

BikeRunSki · 11/01/2019 05:50

Jet black, very severe 1960a Vidal Sassoon signature bob.

I actually have very fine blonde curly hair. No amount of dying and straightening could make a Vidal Sassoon bob happen to my hair.

Zoflorabore · 11/01/2019 06:02

What on earth is a widows peak?

I love love love the second photo.

Mine is thick, very dark and long.

My dd has the most beautiful hair ever. Corkscrew curls in several colours, she's almost 8 and if I had a pound for every compliment we have received over the years I would be living it up in a mansion somewhere hot.

KirstyAllsoppsFatterTwin · 11/01/2019 06:05

Widows peaks are a pain in the arse and don’t even look nice. Why on earth would you wish for one? Confused

KirstyAllsoppsFatterTwin · 11/01/2019 06:08

I have a long, boring bob and I’ve also tried to get various hairdressers to give me that tousled soft ringlet look. They don’t seem to be able to get it right at all and I come out with either ridiculous corkscrew curls or the tiniest bit of wave that’s dropped out within the hour.

My friend curled my hair like that on GHDs once and it looked fantastic. I just can’t get the hang of of doing it myself though.

Zoflorabore · 11/01/2019 06:15

Dd's hair :)

CountFosco · 11/01/2019 08:27

Zoflorabore your DDs hair is exactly like my niece's hair. It's wild and gorgeous, just like she is!

Jengacritical · 11/01/2019 08:30

Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. I always wanted long curly red hair. Sadly mine’s straight as a pin and won’t hold a curl (even after a perm!), and is so fine every time I grow it to waist length it starts breaking off and looks terrible.

AwdBovril · 11/01/2019 08:41

I want the hair I had as a teen / early 20s. Auburn / light golden brown, fading to a natural hay blonde at the tips. People used to ask me how I got it to do that, this was years before highlighting or bayalage was really popular. And it was really shiny & thick, & long. Now it's crap & greying, & I have never found a dye that I really like.
