I was given a lovely £100 gift card for Xmas and am looking forward to spending it.
I already spend quite heftily on skincare compared to makeup (I spend almost nothing) and clothes, for example I use Emma Hardie cleansing balm and have been using a gorgeous Aurelia night oil which is pricey.
BUT a) I've got more cash-strapped than usual recently so I need to make SENSIBLE skincare decisions and b) I'm starting to notice, in my early 40s, more lines on my forehead etc that I'd like to try to tackle (and I don't think my current skincare, apart from cleanser, is doing much to help with).
I can't, of course, guarantee that I will be able to afford any of the products I fall in love with once I've spent my gift card on them and they run out later on!!
But I really would like to treat myself to any of:
An amazing new serum, day and/or night
A new night oil (or cream, but I love oils for nighttime) that really helps with lines and moisture loss
A new daytime moisturiser would be lovely too but with Space NK prices I don't think £100 will get me much more than the two already listed above. But if anyone has any suggestions for something more anti-ageing than my current very plain Ren moisturiser, I'd love to hear them!
My skin is sensitive and tends to break out horrifically with the wrong product. I have for example a sample of Sunday Riley Luna oil that makes my chin turn into a cystic acne zone BUT which works wonders for my forehead (!). I don't really know whether to try a retinol-containing product, or a lactic-acid of Vitamin-C product... heavy-duty anti-ageing products are very new to me.
I'm 42, my skin generally looks younger than that (don't smoke, avoid sun) but I'm getting self-conscious about the forehead lines and have long loathed the number 11 between my eyebrows (which I don't think I can do much about tbh).
Any advice at all? I like the look of Drunk Elephant and Oskia but they are VERY pricey, esp Oskia.
I used to love Sarah Chapman products in the days when I could afford them regularly before I had DD but the prices have gone crazy on those now.
Would love some pointers before I go into the shop and ask as I don't want to get pointed in the direction of the latest pricey thing by the sales assistants (though I know they're often good at Space NK)
