‘Stylish’ socks.

I realise this may be an oxymoron. However, now and again I see people on here talking about wearing snazzy socks to cover the ankle gap in winter. I’d love a dozen pairs of such items but I’m guessing they aren’t the socks with ‘cute’ motifs on them that seem to plague the women’s sock market. I think I’ve asked this last year but don’t think I got any replies, so here I am again...

Sparkle socks seem to be a thing at the moment especially of the darker variety. Plenty on here. The writing is on the dimes so no one else can see it unless you’re not wearing shoes.

John Lewis had some lovely ones but sold out. Kicking myself for not buying more than one pair!

I had to laugh when I saw this. My wife has recently vented her anger to me about cute socks! I was moaning that she always wears mine, and then she invited me to find Ladies socks that an adult would want to wear, and blow me, you can't.
There's got to be a business here - it can't just be the two of you that feel like this?

Slarty there’s plenty of plain black cotton or lambswool women’s socks out there if that’s the type of thing your wife is looking for.

Thanks everyone. I don’t like the feel of glitter on my skin (shudder) But maybe I should look at what’s out there for men. Also have...ahem...somewhat large flippers.

I wear thin cotton trainer socks underneath the sparkle ones as I too cannot stand the feel. Keeps my feet warm too.

I just wear pop socks under my jeans if it's too cold for an ankle gap. I only do sparkly anything at Christmas and don't do snazzy socks any time!

I just buy men's socks! I suppose that wouldn't work if you had tiny feet, but mine aren't so men's fit me fine. Their feet are very similar to women's, I believe

I dislike happy socks, they are just a more expensive version of the nasty ones you get at Christmas and father’s day!

Slartybartfast- your wife could do worse than get falke cosywool socks which are the best socks ever. Expensive but last for years.

Enbrogue is good on more unusual suppliers of socks. I got mine from Sockshop I love the oddsocks company enbrogue recommends but baulk at the price!
