Anyone bought or seen a nice Parka in the sales?

Nope and I’ve given up! KIN had some nice ones (John Lewis) but they looked frumpy on me (think you need to be six foot and a size six for them to look good, they are oversized and huuuuge) and all the others looked scruffy.

Oh for an elegant parka but the usual suspects, Hobbs, Jaeger, didn’t do one this year Sad.

Saw a woman in a parka type jacket and asked her where she’d got it, it was Barbour but she’s got it in an outlet in Tyneside, hundreds of miles away.

I bought the Joules one in the sale - down from £130 to £70. Much neater fitting than the others.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 07/01/2019 13:16

I ordered the Joules Windfield in the sale because it's waterproof and most women's coats aren't (a pet peeve of mine). Sent it back because the sleeves were too short for me. It was nice though and would probably fit a normal-sized person.

My waterproof parka is the navy Lucasta parka by Alesha Dixon X Regatta.

It was half price approx £55 in the sale & I have had compliments on how smart it looks.

Thanks everyone for some ideas. It seems the perfect parka is hard to find!

If you're wanting a proper warm, waterproof and windproof parka then I'd recommend a Didrikson's. Not the most stylish maybe, but they are so practical and comfy. The sleeves are quite long on them I've found and I daresay the length is too much on me but I'm a shorty.

Gap have a lovely quilted fishtail parka which has 35% off today and free del with code FLASHGAP. TK Maxx also worth a look, and Mango.

Primark. Seriously. Really flattering, waterproof, half lined in fake fur stuff so warm as toast. Been asked about it several times.

Not bulky either. THink it was around £30. Hood stays up too if you need it.

sammy891 · 08/01/2019 21:29

@LaurieFairyCake which Joules one did you buy? I can't see one for £70 online.

Ooh, I’m looking for a nice parka too. A colleague has a green one with a bright blue collar. I’ve tried to have a look online but can’t see it. I think it’s Boden, but she’s off on leave at the moment so can’t ask her. Grateful for any suggestions.

sammy891 · 09/01/2019 11:01

Thanks @LaurieFairyCake, that's a great buy! Good discount and Joules things are great quality.

I have a lovely navy one from Tog24.

MummySharkDoDo · 09/01/2019 12:17

I like the Seasalt ones, sales on. I’m tall and have the Janelle, on a scout camp in the rain in the only person who was still dry under my coat at the end of the day!
