eyelash extensions

I wanted a bit of a new look to brighten what is being a very miserable January for me. On Saturday I had a set of eyelash extensions put in and I am blown away by the results, they have made more difference to my appearance than I could every have imagined. This week I have a counselling appointment and a very difficult conversation to have with someone who has really fucked up my life, so I want to look drop dead georgeous ( well as far as that is possible at my rather advanced age)

What I'm wondering now is if I should carry on having them done or whether after a couple of top ups I should take a rest. What are your experiences? Cost is only a borderline issue, it is quite expensive to keep up the look.

I normally get two infills then get them fully removed have a few weeks without then a fresh set.
I normally plan my new/fresh set around events, sometimes I just like a break to be able to scrub my face/put it under the shower ect

Can you not get them wet? Sorry to ask, contemplating for the holiday but I wasn’t sure. I’ve never had them done so nothing useful to add but Op I’m glad you’re pleased with them and hope your meetings go well.

Pearlgrey1 · 07/01/2019 10:26

You can get them damp I've been swimming with them ect
I just wouldn't go dunking my head under and you need to be careful when washing/drying your face so your not rubbing them.
Other things are avoiding oil products and giving them a little comb.

Thanks, I think I'll maybe have them topped up a couple of times and then leave have them off for a while. This year I have decided to give myself some treats before I start the full on diet and exercise thing, and because life has been so dreadful over the last few months. I also ventured into the waxing studio for the first time ever on Saturday morning, wish I'd had that done years ago too!

I have infills every three weeks - been having them for nearly 2 years now. I look after them by washing my eyes in warm water with baby shampoo twice a week to keep them nice and clean and brush them gently.
No oil based products should be used and never coat them in a layer of mascara!!!
I love having them - it does make such a difference to how you look and how you feel.
I’m sure you would also love microblading too this also opens up and frames the eye area beautifully.

I always love how they look but I find the infill appointments really boring and usually give up on them after about 2 months.

There’s no problem getting them wet though, I had mine for holiday last year, lots of swimming in the sea and they were fine.

BillyAndTheSillies · 07/01/2019 14:19

They're my one and only must have beauty treatment. Infills every 3-4 weeks and find they actually last better on the infill appointment than the first set.
Have them for holiday but find more shedding because I use oils and take make up on and off more than usual on holiday.
They make such a difference.

They have been much admired at work today!

Glad everyone liked them op. Thanks for the advice re water / holidays ladies.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 08/01/2019 18:43

I've have them done every 3 weeks. They've been on over 2 years apart from a few days when I had an operation.

I get them wet and swim with them on, in the pool and sea. Can't be without them now 😬

DerelictWreck · 08/01/2019 19:07

Can anyone recommend a place to get them done in London? Preferably north of the river 😂

Iooselipssinkships · 09/01/2019 10:05

Can't live without mine. Had them a couple of years and an infill every 3/4 weeks.
My eyelash lady last commented on how my natural eyelashes are now in amazing condition due to not wearing mascara or messing about with them anymore!
They're perfect when you cba with make up and instantly brighten up your face. Would recommend to everyone!

GreyBird84 · 09/01/2019 12:46

I have just started getting these I love them! How do you wash them in baby shampoo?

Oogle · 09/01/2019 15:35

I started getting mine 11 months ago and I have infills every 2 weeks. My own lashes are in much better condition and so much longer than before.
I don't bother washing mine, but I brush them twice a day. I don't wear eyeshadow anymore so I don't need to use make up remover on my eyes. I'm not massively careful with mine, except for the first 24hrs.

I love them and it'd take a lot to make me stop getting them.
