Chanel no. 5 red bottle - worth keeping?!

I received a full size Chanel no 5 bottle in the limited edition bottle from a relative for Christmas. It's a really generous present but it just isn't really my style. The same relative has bought me this for some time and I've never had the heart to tell them I'm not keen, I usually just exchange it for a different one. But I wonder whether I'd be daft to get rid of the limited edition one and should just hold on to it in case they become collectable?
I'll probably still treat myself to a new scent 'from my relative' so I don't feel like I'm just keeping their gift with a view to sell it on as that doesn't really sit right with me...

Keep this red bottle as it's limited edition and tell your relative in few months time you have found a new perfume you prefer and tell them which one so they get that one for next Christmas.

I think you'd have to hold onto it for quite a long time ( years!) for it to have any kind of value as a collector's item. Chanel release things in limited edition packaging all the time, this one wasn't particularly hyped up about or sought after. I think you'd be better off to exchange it for something you'd enjoy, at least that way you're guaranteed to benefit from it.
