Sale at Clarks £30. Horrid or ok?

These boots ok?

It depends. They’re a no for me because they’re beige (I don’t do beige) and to my eye, too tame.

I can imagine someone else thinking they’re smart but comfortable and they’ll go with loads of outfits.

ree348 · 03/01/2019 23:18

Look fine to me! Would look nice with jeans

messyhousetidymind · 03/01/2019 23:20

I think they look smart and comfortable and would look good with jeans Grin

Polkapjs · 03/01/2019 23:21

They’re more grey than beige - inoffensive I can handle. Don’t want to be too ...erm ...mum boot though

I like them. They look practical and comfy and cute. I've got similar ones in navy.

peachypetite · 03/01/2019 23:21

Meh, not amazing, bit mumsy.

Polkapjs · 03/01/2019 23:22

Weird. Tried to post earlier but I’ve just seen it’s there! Sorry. I promise I’m not attention seeking for my boring boots!

I love that Mumsnet is full of people determined to look anything but mumsy...

Bigonesmallone3 · 03/01/2019 23:27

Look fairly similar to a pair I have from Russell and Bromley costing over 3x that price!!

Polkapjs · 03/01/2019 23:28

I’m a mum. Happy to look like a mum but a mum who has chosen shoes not just wearing as they’re practical. But also a mum who has next to zero time to think for herself and values the opinions of the stylish ladies on here who have helped me a lot

They're just 'ok' I think OP. I think the shape makes them look a bit dated, they definitely look like they are from Clark's not topshop if you see what I mean.
I would probably wear them, especially if they're comfy, but in a kind of - found these in my wardrobe, they'll do for the day to day shoved on outfits/I want to get the use out of them, not because I was trying to style something up or look 'cool ' (not that I probably ever have). Extra caveat that yes obviously not everyone needs or wants to look on trend always, it's not better or worse blah blah

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 04/01/2019 06:45

I'm not keen. There is nothing about them which indicates any thought has gone into making them stylish. They are just totally practical, bland boots.

Ollivander84 · 04/01/2019 09:01

@Polkapjs what are they called? I've been looking for something similar for work!

retainertrainer · 04/01/2019 09:12

Lovely and there’s no such thing as ‘mumsy’.

HolgerLowCarbingLoser · 04/01/2019 09:18

I think they’re a great choice for something comfortable and easy to wear with a wide range of outfits, and the price is good. I would happily wear them, and I’d rely on my attitude and the way I carry myself to ensure they don’t come across in whatever way I am trying not to project.

mistermagpie · 04/01/2019 09:19

I'm a mum and nearly 40 and I think they are really really boring and the sort of thing my MIL wears and she's 70. They are inoffensive of course, just a bit blah.

I tend to wear leather converse with jeans for casual though, which loads of people hate, so you know... different taste etc.

Polkapjs · 04/01/2019 09:41

I’ll try on again in the house for comfort then decide. Not much spare money but I was after some boots for with skinnies which go with black, grey and blue and I think these fit the bill - I’ll try and find the name for a PP who liked them

NiteFlights · 04/01/2019 10:06

They’re fine - nice and low-key. I’d probably take the tassel off the zip. £30 is good value!

RussellSprout · 04/01/2019 12:14

It's the shoe equivalent of a potato. Boring, bland, useful.

Didiusfalco · 04/01/2019 12:17

I like them and would wear them -they look inoffensive and practical, but I’m not particularly fashionable/interested in clothes so perhaps not the best judge 🤔

Polkapjs · 04/01/2019 13:38

No style name on them sorry. They were from an outlet shop though

OP posts:
Shopaholiccmum · 04/01/2019 13:59

Really nice, I'd wear them;).

foxtiger · 04/01/2019 14:51

I like those a lot. I'd wear them with blue or cream jeans or with brightly coloured tights and a short denim skirt.
