What skin tone/hair colour are you? IPL works best if you are very fair with dark hair. If you are likely to be changing contraception, getting pregnant, going through menopause in next few years then it's unlikely it'll last as hormonal changes can make the hair grow back. I used to work with professional IPL and had treatment myself (very fair and dark hair) and it worked for a few months then all came back. It's a time consuming process and you have to continually top-up your treatments for 'permanent' results. I personally despite working in this area prefer to shave/wax as it's so much quicker considering IPL isn't permanent.
If you are going to buy an at-Home device then the Philips Lumea is generally considered the best.

Also you won't be able to do IPL if you're on any medication which makes you sensitive to light, and shouldn't expose the treated areas to light when you're treating.
You'll need to shave the area prior to treatment and can't wax/thread/epilate As IPL works on the hair follicle and those methods of hair removal remove them! Just things to bear l in mind!

Thank you so much. I'm pale with dark hair. Annoyingly on the side of my face too. Coarse hair on legs. Tired of shaving so I veet a lot.

Legs tend to be one of the areas which take best to it. Face is more tricky because of sun exposure.
Some people swear by IPL though so don't let me put you off if others love it!
