Tweed Blazer - how to style it

I have bought a tweed blazer in the sales. It hasn't arrived yet (purchased online) and I am wondering if it was a good idea!

For background I'm a sahm so usually dress casually.

Are blazers a coat replacement for spring or autumn? Are they a classic investment piece?

Just a bit clueless really and would appreciate advice.

@alwayscheerful - regarding the Boden jacket (massively on sale now), it is a lovely traditional print, nicely lined etc.
However it is more of a suit jacket in terms of heaviness and warmth, while I was thinking Spiring/Autumn as outerwear.
So it drops into the odd space of not being quite indoor or outdoor wear.

I also adore the Clemence Poecy look. Sadly Channel beyond me too!!
