Hair Colour Help

I've been having highlights for years with no problems but, due to the amount of grey, I decided to have an all over colour. The patch test was fine and I had no problems when the colour was on, but the next day my head started itching really badly. That was on 22nd December and my head and body is still itching. I have no rash, no flaking and no swelling though.

I've changed my next appointment back to foils but I'm now worried that I might have a problem with that as well, although I haven't in the past. Does anyone have any suggestions what I can do, other than go grey which really isn't an option!

Thanks in advance.

Have you taken an anti histamine ? Changed your shampoos?

I use poly tar for any itching !

Antonia free hair dye, it may not completely stop it but it should help.

Natural hair dye. I make my own tea using turmeric, camomile, redbush tea and instant coffee. I brew it all up in a tea pot and pour it through clean dry hair, leave it in and dry it. This turns my salt and pepper grey hair dark blonde.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I'm taking 2 or 3 antihistamines a day. They take the edge off for a while and then the itching starts again. I haven't changed my shampoo or shower gel, I've been using Moogoo for a while now as it doesn't contain parabens etc.

Since I posted this I've spoken to the hairdresser again and they apparently have a new dye which has less PPD, ammonia etc. They are going to check my card to see whether they used the old or new formula. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it was the old one so I can try the new one!
