Has anyone here had a facelift?

I'm almost ashamed to be asking...
but I'm 51 this week and in the last couple of years I have drooped from human to Sharpei . I'm tall and lanky with a thin face and it has sagged..badly. I have jowls and saggy eyes, turkey neck and ..well it's grim.

I don't wear makeup..or rarely, as I work in a practical job, but my face is distressing me and I am seriously considering surgical options. My bloody husband is 6 years older and ageing gloriously..handsome, fit and has a beard which hides the wrinkles. If I could grow a beard I would!!

He's also a nice man and when I suggested it just said 'I love you as you are but if it makes you happy, look into it.'

Or is there a lesser step I could take? Any advice ?

Honestly I'm not mega vain but shit I'm not ageing well...

Have you considered something less permanent like fillers? Profilho gets good results. Have a look at the Consultant Clinic on Instagram for before and after shots. All the staff there are doctors who now specialise in facial aesthetics so they know what they are doing.

still

Im having one in January so i will lurk with interest

It’s a bit drastic. Make up hides a multitude so why don’t you start with that? Failing that, look into fillers/Botox.

Lumene · 31/12/2018 23:37

I would look at non surgical options like fillers first personally. Then if not happy go for surgery as last resort.

You’re quite young still for a full SMAS facelift so you could look at mid-face fillers, HiFu or threads to begin with.

Have a look on RealSelf and start resesrching surgeons in your area.

Dominic Bray is very good but very expensive.

Its hard to advise without seeing your face/neck.

Go and have a few consultations.

Id defo have a face lift. Im 37 and i have bad genes my mum didn't age very well.
Ive had fillers in my cheeks to try and give me a lift but to be honest I didn't notice much of a difference.
Ive got very noticeable crows feet and forehead wrinkles which I get botox for. Im also very slim with a slim face that is starting to droop.
I think I will have a face lift in the years to come not quite yet though.
If you can afford it go for it just do your research first.

Ooooh yes, a half one.

I would love a face lift, I am not wrinkly but I dislike my jowls and saggy neck. Sadly I am too much of a coward to face the GA and pain a facelift involves.

I compromised and had ultherapy and a thread lift. The ultherapy was quite painful, left awful bruising and took a long time to take effect but my neck looks much better than it did, I would probably do it again. The thread lift was about 4 months ago and so far appears to have been a complete waste of money as it has made no discernible improvement to my jowls or jaw line.

Oh I'm interested in this too.
You're young for surgery op, not that I'm clued up on it.

I could def do with a neck lift (if that's a thing) and a bottom half face lift. First I would get my hooded eyes done though, I'm late 60s
Who are the best clinics/surgeons to see? I'm in the south [middle]

lindyloo57 · 01/01/2019 14:50

i too would like my hooded eyes done, who are the best surgeons in south east?

baddayattheoffice · 01/01/2019 15:03

I had a brow lift and some excess skin cut away from my hooded eyes when I was 50. It did make an improvement but it's not permanent and after two/three years it looked about the same as it had done before.
