What HOC season is this celebrity?

I don't look like this girl at all but we have similar colouring. She dresses really well in a show I watch her in - lots of bright magenta, turquoise, red, purple. Would she be an autumn or a winter?
I had my colours done and was told autumn but I hate all the sludgy moss greens and browns. I feel like I suit bright crisp colours better - so emerald as opposed to moss. Could I have been mismatched?

She’s an Autumn

sprinkleofsunshine · 30/12/2018 22:06

Sorry to hijack but how do you know what colours you are/who can tell you?

mowglik · 30/12/2018 22:11

You could def have been misdiagnosed, I went to a colour me beautiful session and was told I was an autumn (or warm deep clear which is their system), and then went to a HOC training session where they had me down as a winter.

I thought I was an autumn but always felt drab in autumn colours, I can def see the difference now I wear cooler winter colours.

Anyway short story is you can’t tell what season a person is unless you drape and see how the colours actually look on you.

JMAngel1 · 30/12/2018 22:12

So Autumn like me but she looks amazing in Winter colours.
Maybe I should change my swatches.
Do you think that by wearing colours opposite to your colouring, it can look more striking because tbere is more of a contrast?
Sprinkle, you can book a consultation or tgere are lots of online quizes available - check out Kettlewell initially.

mowglik - yes I had the consultation and the lady was adamant I was an autumn but I just feel like I disappear in the swatch guide colours.
I immediately was drawn to the winter pallete but she said "they're not for you!"

this is from the Kettlewell colours website. While they are obviously trying to sell you their clothes it may give you an idea of the wider range of colours that might suit an autumn.

My guess would be clear/bright spring.

This colour draping stuff is just opinion. We all potentially see colour differently.

Go with what you feel looks best 🙂

PurpleNailVarnish · 30/12/2018 23:22

As Mowglik says you can be misdiagnosed, I've had two HoC consultations because I wasn't sure about the first one. One said I am a soft summer, the other said blue spring 🤷🏼‍♀️

There's a quiz on the Kettlewell site that might give you an idea season quiz

SirVixofVixHall · 30/12/2018 23:25

I am an Autumn and i can’t imagine her suiting the same colours as me. She looks as though her hair might naturally be a darker brown, her eyes are blue/grey , if i was dressing her i probably wouldn’t put her in Autumn colours. Could she be a Summer ?
How much does hair colour count , eg if you dye your hair then might you be a different season ?

WhatshouldIpay · 30/12/2018 23:30

She's a soft autumn and shouldn't be wearing that lipstick.

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 30/12/2018 23:43

No real knowledge of this but how can it possibly work when your skin and hair change colour with the sun? I look nice in warm colours but also in white. White is a winter colour insn’t it, like black?
Won’t it depend on the light outside too. A bit like colours on holiday looking great and then dreadful in grey England?

Koko you sound like a jewel winter, ice pink, blush pink look great on me, but pastels make me look awful.

They say white vs cream is a good indicator if you are cool vs warm.

OP maybe the consultant had you down as an autumn from the moment she saw you and wouldn’t be swayed. Were You not draped in winter colours as well? I look like a classic autumn, warm eyes and hair and no one would ever say I was a winter but those are the colours that look best on me.

Maybe go to a hoc training session - they’re free! And also there will be a discussion about which palette suits you and why, it’s probably more in depth than the usual consultation.

SirVixofVixHall · 31/12/2018 13:37

I have said i am an Autumn, but actually that is my assumption, going by what suits me. I am very pale, with green eyes, dark eyebrows, and (not coloured) light brown hair . I can’t think of a celeb with similar colouring to post an image.
Might i be something else ?

Deathraystare · 01/01/2019 11:03

Winters are apparently the only ones that truly suit black (or white for that matter). I prefer navy and Ivory/cream.

I have not been tested but believe I have warm colouring. I further think I am a spring but with dark brown hair (dyed red) and greeny veins and warm brown moles on my body. I usually suit warm ivory or light colour foundation. My eyes are blue.

SirVixofVixHall · 01/01/2019 22:56

I don’t know if i suit cream or white. I probably look better in dark brown than black.

BrassicaBabe · 02/01/2019 16:31

I'm an autumn but definitely can't wear black like she is

SirVixofVixHall · 02/01/2019 17:21

I suppose i have to shell out for a consultation, as I have been buying Autumn colours, but there are usually a few colours in other ranges that i think suit me, and some Autumn colours that don’t .
I am still trying to find an image of someone with my colouring, but failing !
