Where do you buy your work outfits?

I don't need to wear a suit every day but would like a new one for more formal occasions at work.

I prefer skirt suits and don't like trousers. I am a size 10.

Next has loads of suits & some Interesting colours.
M&S is really good for variety of styles/ lengths you can mix & match easily as they keep the colours the same so no mismatched blacks

I buy all my work stuff from Hobbs and have done so for 25 years, love it. I don't wear a suit every day these days but I wear tons of their tailored dresses, adding a jacket if i need to.

I was just about to say Hobbs always looks amazing but see I've been beaten to it Xmas Grin, I've always been to tight/ poor to spend on it...not in 2019 though I'm going to get that promotion Wink

I bought one recently from Boden, on DSis' recommendation. I bought the Ponte jacket and Hampshire trousers as well as the skirt. They are nice and stretchy, more comfortable than I would have expected. In fact I am thinking of getting another pair of Hampshire trousers in the sale to coordinate with the jacket. I got the existing pieces in an earlier sale and paid about 120 for the jacket and skirt which was very reasonable compared to what I was about to spend in Hobbs.

Ha - I managed to get the promotion with the sale price Boden suit!

Oh lovely suggestions. Thank you. Will definitely look at Hobbs to start.

Marking my place.

Our office has just been rejigged, and I'm now in the customer facing bit so have to smarten up. Haven't worn proper smart work stuff for years so not sure whats good these days.

Yes. Hobbs. I don’t buy suits - I get their dresses and mix with H&M jackets.

NikiFree · 29/12/2018 07:45

I had a look at Hobbs website and the only potential issue is length.

Lots of reviews saying dresses too long. If you look at the model details the dresses are below knee on a 5ft9 model. I'm 5ft4 so they'd be very long on me.

Wow. Thank you.

If it helps, I'm 5'6 and I tried on the first two dresses in those links and didn't buy them as they were above my knee and my work dress code is pretty strict.

John Lewis own brand work suits are great and very reasonable eg the Taylor ponte suit
