Skincare for just turned 30 year old

I have began going through the skincare threads but if I’m honest it all seems a bit overwhelming! I’ve just turned 30 and I have decided it’s time to up my skin care game. I’m just not sure where to start. I have combination skin, little to no spots usually but the beginning of fine lines under eyes. I do have a routine that I have been religious with from a young age so I’m ok with keeping it up.

Currently am: cleanse, tone, moisturise, eye cream. All Liz Earle bar the eye cream which is Bobbi brown ( I prefer cream textures to gels) I used to use the decleor neroli serum but I found it abit too much for daily use on my skin so didn’t replace when it finished.

Pm: Micheller water, hot cloth cleanser, I’ve just introduced a serum, then standard moisturiser then Estée Lauder night eye cream. I also exfoliatiate once a week, again with Liz Earle.

I get on well with the Liz Earle cleanser, and the night serum and night eye cream are new products so need to use them up. I’m going to try the pixi toner instead of the Liz Earle as I’ve heard good things but I need a new day cream and eye cream. I should also start using an spf although my B.B. cream has an spf. I don’t wear much make up. I see a lot of people talking about retinoids and vit c etc but I’m not sure how, if, when to use them and also what I need. Any advice?

For eye cream I swear by the Kiehls avocado one. Pixie toner is great- the new purple retinol one especially. If you are using Liz Earle I assume you already hot cloth cleanse? I swear by that.

Make sure you use an spf 30 face cream- simple do one for a fiver as a starter for 10. I also recently started using a retinol by the ordinary, so I suggest that you look into them- they also do a vitamin c serum. Good luck!

Just read it back and noticed you do use a hot cloth cleanser- my stupid reading comprehension!

If you do nothing else, find and use an excellent, make up and skin friendly broad spectrum SPF every day. It will make the biggest positive difference to your skin re: anti-aging. Don’t start with actives like retinol etc until you are doing this without fail.

BB cream or other makeup won’t provide enough protection unless you trowel it on to the point it looks ridiculous so separate SPF and a generous amount is important.

Ok great thank you! I will get the eye cream and toner as recommended above as well as going on the hunt for an spf. Then once that’s part of my routine I’ll start consider other things.
